While fans of Goodfellas might tune into this schlock on Cable TV thinking there would be more about the 1978 Lufthansa heist that was so important in that film, they will be sadly disappointed. Jimmy Burke was not a "small-time hood", he was simply not Italian and could never be "made" (neither could Henry Hill) so was merely "associated" with the Mafia. While the real names of the participants are used as opposed to Goodfellas (Burke instead of Conway etc.) this movie is just too distorted from the true story. Donald Sutherland gives a fine performance in a lame effort but why the Irish accent? How did Burke's son enter into the caper?

Very Inspired & Highly Recommended

I had first seen the trailer for Take Off a couple of years back while watching another vintage 70's porn by Video-X Pix & was very intrigued especially since I am huge fan of vintage cinema of the 1910's-30's. though hunting down a copy at NYC porn shops always failed my girlfriend was finally able to find a copy online. Despite the usual technical flaws of 70's porn this movie really is an inspired effort & Wade Nichols could actually give a good performance. A great deal of thought went into this movie & it's a shame it isn't more well-known alongside say Deep Throat & Behind The Green Door as landmarks of mainstream adult films of the decade.
