Sleepwalkers (1992)
A dark and enjoyable movie.
This jewel of a movie really had what it takes to make a terrific movie to be watched late at night, while it's raining outside. While eating a bowl of popcorn, you and your gal come across the movie "Sleepwalkers" and decide to watch. What you're in for is a movie that follows the tragic plight of the last two surviving members of a species of humanoid cat-like people. They do whatever they can to survive, including feeding off the energy of humans (not blood, they are NOT vampires!). Of course, in the end, humans destroy them. Their race becomes extinct. Sad, though not entirely undeserved. Watch the movie and take it for what it is. P.S. - The parents of "Ferris Bueler" are parents in this one two!
Los nuevos extraterrestres (1983)
What if Pat and Chris from SNL had a kid?????
Pod People??? Humnnnnnn. Well, if Pat and Chris from Saturday Night Live-fame had a child, it would resemble Pod People's little femme boy waif, Tommy... a bug collecting, perky little blonde he/she that spends too much time to itself... of whom finds itself more comfortable with circa 1970's shag-carpeted, peanut-snorting, karate chopping aliens, rather than his alcohol-soaked uncle (I think) and his Bonnie Frankin (One Day at a Time TV series) haired mother. And how about that rock band? Let's hear it for the "Loverboy" look of love... leg warmers, headbands, Toni-Perms and snappy dialog. "Hear the Engines Roll Now", their claim to fame sounded to me like... "Idiots in Trona" (If you knew what & where Trona is, you would completely understand). The fog scenes were really well done. I highly recommend that wonderful little movie off that had been passed on as being "written". Definitely... "Must See TV"
Pursuit of Happiness (2001)
"True to Life"
"Pursuit of Happiness" chronicles a relationship between two people that I find completely true to life... for me at least. I have had a best friend since third grade, through middle and high school, as well as college. We have been there for each other as long as I can remember and have supported each other through all sorts of ordeals and relationships. I even gave her away at her wedding, a marriage that lasted for ten rocky years. Now single, we briefly crossed paths in what I feel was more than a purely "platonic" way. Unfortunately, we did not hook up like the characters 'Alan' and 'Marissa' from the movie. So I find that "Pursuit of Happiness" really hits home, not to mention it has a great indie-rock soundtrack! An excellent choice for those of us who believe in the power of love that can exist between two best friends that happen to be a boy and girl. So... Watch and Enjoy!!!
Twin Peaks (1990)
Log Lady forever!!!
Twin Peaks. An intelligently written show, created for viewers with open minds and hearts. I long for my college days kickin' back with my friends watching Peaks and tippin' a few. No show shall ever come close to the creative, scenic, and mysteriously odd caliber that was....."Twin Peaks"
