Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)
Good Villians but Diveristy highlight...
Main characters are great but secondary are just diversity spotlights. I.e. Scene little boy threatens an autobot if anything happens tk his brother and little boy never saw one before...literally who envisioned this scene but a person jacked up on delusions. Loses its realism, not bc of the robots, but the unrealistic snarky nonsense to try and make minorities look strong and relevant...the key scientist is a super smart black woman that outsmarts everyone. I guess since every movie company is going this direction, it makes you wonder if this part of the panderverse. Villains are solid and Optimus has character growth-this is good. Would be better if it linked into main characters army history and failing to save people in his squad and allies in war, and that would tie into the events of the movie for a second chance.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Costar is annoying 1 dimensional with too much spotlight
The much-anticipated latest installment in the Indiana Jones franchise left me with mixed feelings, leaning towards disappointment. As a long-time fan of the adventurous archaeologist, portrayed by the venerable Harrison Ford, I couldn't help but sense a certain staleness in the narrative and execution of the film. The playful charisma of the action is mismanaged, the discoveries of ah-ha moments are redirected to the lackluster costar, and scraps for Indy.
The film attempts to recapture the magic of its predecessors, blending action, archaeology, and a hint of the supernatural. Harrison Ford, reprising his role as the iconic Indiana Jones, brings his signature charisma to the screen. His portrayal is still compelling, capturing the essence of the character that has become synonymous with daring adventures and narrow escapes.
However, despite Ford's commendable performance, the plot feels like a hodgepodge of recycled elements from previous films.
The introduction of new characters is an attempt to inject freshness into the story, but it falls short of making a significant impact. These characters lack the depth and complexity that made the original supporting cast memorable. The chemistry between Indy and his new companions feels forced, unbelievable, their motivations are thinly developed, making it challenging to invest emotionally in the new characters. Basically, over emphasized and exaggerated people we'd expect to be cast aside by any true to the character intelligent indy.
One of the glaring issues with the film is its pacing. The action sequences, which were once a highlight of the franchise, now border on cliché. The film seems to rely too heavily on nostalgia, recreating iconic moments from earlier movies without adding any meaningful twists or enhancements. The result is a sense of déjà vu that diminishes the excitement and leaves the audience craving something truly innovative.
Furthermore, the film struggles to find a balance between paying homage to the original trilogy and forging a new path. The nods to past adventures often come across as forced and disrupt the flow of the narrative. It feels as though the filmmakers were more focused on recreating the magic of the past than creating a compelling story for the present.
Visually, the film is a mixed bag. While the cinematography captures the exotic locales and intense action sequences, the use of CGI at times feels jarring and out of place. The practical effects that were a hallmark of the earlier films are overshadowed by modern technology, robbing the movie of the tangible and gritty feel that defined the Indiana Jones aesthetic.
In terms of the storyline, the mystical artifact at the center of the plot lacks the intrigue and mystique of previous MacGuffins. The quest for this object feels more like a checklist of Indiana Jones tropes than a genuine exploration into the unknown. The lack of a compelling antagonist further weakens the narrative, as the stakes never feel as high as they did in the earlier films.
In conclusion, while it's always a challenge to meet the expectations set by classic franchises, the latest Indiana Jones installment falls short of the mark. Despite Harrison Ford's valiant effort to bring his iconic character to life once again, the film suffers from a lackluster plot, underdeveloped characters, and an overreliance on past successes. Die-hard fans may find moments of nostalgia, but overall, the film fails to capture the essence of what made the original trilogy timeless.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
It's okay. Drawn out...really drawn out.
Basically a big part of the character growth is just trusting yourself over others and that's pretty much it. A long cycle to finally end up there. It was entertaining to kill time on a plane ride, but ended weird and not real satisfaction. Drawn out...really drawn out and if we're honest-predictable. Would've given it 6 stars for the visual effects but it was just obvious so got three steps ahead and had to wait so long for it to just catch up...think it would've been better if they would've include a key villain, better lessons and just tie it together quicker. I think they had some reveals to carry the story but lost the charm somewhere in the telling of it.
Miraculous - Le film (2023)
Is this suppose to be a mockery of the original?
My toddler wouldn't even watch this. Was looking forward to this but just a big let down.
Pros
Graphics
Cons
Drawn out silly songs for no reason
Voices different for no reason apparently
Main characters voice is blan
She lacks the pizazz and fun of the original.
Title: A Disappointing Adventure: Lackluster Kids Movie Review
In the vast and enchanting world of children's cinema, certain films manage to charm and captivate young audiences with their magical storytelling and endearing characters. However, not every movie achieves this feat, and unfortunately, this particular kids movie falls into that category. With its lackluster plot, forgettable characters, and predictable humor, the film fails to spark the imagination of its intended audience, leaving both kids and adults feeling disappointed.
At the core of any successful children's movie lies a compelling and imaginative plot that takes viewers on an unforgettable journey. Regrettably, this film fails to deliver on this front. The storyline lacks originality and struggles to stand out from the sea of generic tales. Instead of whisking the audience away to a world of wonder, the movie stumbles through familiar tropes, failing to ignite the spark of curiosity and excitement in its young viewers.
Character development is another vital aspect of any film, especially one catering to children. Yet, in this particular movie, the characters remain shallow and one-dimensional. From the protagonist to the supporting cast, their personalities lack depth and fail to leave a lasting impression. Without well-crafted characters to root for, the emotional investment from the audience dwindles, leading to disinterest and detachment from the unfolding story.
A successful kids movie is also expected to deliver on the front of humor and entertainment. Unfortunately, the attempts at humor in this film feel forced and formulaic. The jokes lack the cleverness and spontaneity that usually delight young viewers and their families. Instead, the movie relies on tired and predictable gags that do little to elicit genuine laughter or amusement. As a result, the overall entertainment value of the movie takes a hit, leaving the audience longing for more engaging and genuinely funny moments.
While the film boasts visually appealing animation, it becomes evident that the stunning visuals are used as a crutch to compensate for its other shortcomings. While eye-catching, the animation alone cannot compensate for the lack of a compelling narrative and well-developed characters. The reliance on visuals further highlights the movie's inability to make a lasting impact on its viewers.
Moreover, successful children's movies often carry important themes and meaningful messages that resonate with young audiences. However, this film struggles to convey any impactful messages due to its lack of depth in storytelling and character arcs. As a result, the takeaway from the movie remains unclear and unremarkable, failing to leave a lasting impression on its viewers.
In conclusion, the lackluster kids movie disappoints on multiple levels, from its uninspired plot to its forgettable characters and predictable humor. While the animation is visually impressive, it cannot salvage the overall viewing experience. Ultimately, the film fails to capture the magic and wonder that defines successful children's cinema, leaving its audience with a sense of unfulfillment and dissatisfaction. In a realm filled with remarkable children's movies, this one unfortunately does not rise to the occasion.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Worst plot, batman's not a detective and Luther makes no sense
This is just silly. Frame superman with bullets and flame thrower? An autopsy could prove that its not him or hold up...what if there was someone there as an eye witness and happens to be a reporter who witnessed everything? Oh there was, but she doesn't write or say anything?
And wonder woman..the Amazon....is a the detective not Bruce Wayne Batman, no he's clueless and plays into eh hand of Luther and is out witted each time by Diana. So basically a dumb batman is just a silly man in a bat suit.
All in all worst plot. Good ish cast, superman and Diana well casted. Affleck is out of his league and lex is just wrong cast/script writing. Would've been better modeled after the guy from titans.
What Should of happen:
They used lasers to kill people not bullets to frame Superman. Lois reported against it but suffered an injury so testimony can be contested
Lex wants the kryptonite to kill superman but before he can launch his epic attack the facility is suddenly attacked and batman take it instead...so it actually works out that batman is not a tool and lex is still a villain
Should of had a real reason to have superman show up and if he can hear a whisper in Bruce Wayne's ear at a busy loud party -he could hear a bomb...
The first encounter. Batman should've try and fight him and exhaust his arsenal quickly to make him be entirely ineffective. Then the kryptonite fight he does the same attack but this time super man bleeds.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Still entertaining but few goofs and tooalong the way
Tries too hard to be funny that some scenes lost thier impact on significance. As if the writer it director just couldn't help themselves, so the pacing of it is not balanced. They try so hard to be funny and they should've redirect some of that to bring more about making the moment actually carrying the story further.
Goofs
First off don't you have to be "worthy" to pick up Thor's weapons... Secondly cant thor just call his weapon back like in Thor 2 where the hammer was going into space and back.
Repeated to hit 600 words

Logan (2017)
Complete Character Arch without Compromise
A lot has happened to set the stage for this movie that is quite out there, since it's not fully explained, however the movie is more about the humanity of Logan facing his guilt and overcome his damaged soul. Time has passed and bitterness has set in. The story takes us through an uncompromising view of the mindset of Logan and the stresses that pressure character growth and hope after a whole life of tortured events. Excellent executed.
Sweet Girl (2021)
Surprising Good. Story, Action & unforeseen Twist 7.7/10
This movie had a lot more involved in it than the surface would tell. Great, and I mean great, plot twist. Granted areas of improvement in finicky parts that masterfully crafted scripts would of done better, but for this movie its worth giving some slack in those areas. It had well thought-out characters with growth and dimension, not slapstick and not a dramatic tied with a bow finale. Definitely one of the better movies I've watched this year.
Unplanned (2019)
Balanced, fact driven with Heart
This issue is very charged, so I was impressed to see how the movie, following Abby Johnson, was simply experience and fact driven. There is no smoke and mirrors or touchy emotional cover ups, but simply the telling of a real persons story, that we can narrate through news cast/articles documented in last couple years and verify the events to see that it matches like a well-fit glove. Usually what we experience with "based on a true story" like Imitation Games, Braveheart, or others, we get glimpses of what actually happened to the character through Hollywoods pristine shine, however this movie does justice to the events, conversations, and real-life of the characters involved. No cover up.
It's tough for some people to review, because of their prejudices, which is why I assume the rating, currently, is just under 6, but with good acting and fact-based retelling--it's hard for a balanced reviewer to debate the quality of presentation.
I read of how some people were arguing tissue vs babies in regards to pulling away from the abortion vacuum. But, if thats what Abby Johnson claimed to see,
then I don't see how anyone can argue, especially considering how she turned her life upside down, because of this one experience. Nurse or doctor operating in that capacity can attest to the POC (products of conception aka "Pieces of Children") room and a fetus (latin for offspring) response to a vacuum abortion.
Is it far-fetched, for Profit goals, which fly in the face of a company's mission statement, like doubling abortions verses the mission of Planned Parenthood, actually being unbelievable? Truly, if something makes an organization money, then it's in it's best interest to do more of it or maintain.
Overall:
Good Acting
Fact-Based
