Loved it

So I have to admit I was more into Headbangers Ball and Hair Metal then I ever was rap or hip hop. Some songs were an exception if they caught my attention. So while I knew who Shante was in mention I didn't ever know or experience HER.

However, when I was on youtube looking over new movie trailers trying to make a list of what I want to watch this one had enough drama to catch my eye. Which is great in itself because even there I am more of Horror/Action/Fantasy ind of girl. So this movie was so not me on all points and corners yet I settled down and started watching it and when I did it kept me watching from start to finish. I became so enthralled with the story of this lady's life that not only did I watch the movie and finish it I went to Wikipedia and several fan sites to read more. I then listened to the original song and then her response song in full followed by some of her other work. The movie touched me that much.

So yes I still love metal over rap lol. But this movie has inspired a new moderate fan.

Not able to finish

This was so bad I made it maybe 45 minutes before turning it off. I feel cheated by the previews which lead me to fee there would be so much more than what was given. There was just endless dialog and nothing really happened. Not my kind of movie. I'm on to try something else. Like someone else said...maybe the book is better.

Warning: Spoilers
If you are looking for a happy ever after this is not it. It is a doomed love story about a soldier and an ocean floor discoverer who meet in a hotel and hit it off before going on their respective missions. They spend their holiday together and agree to remain a couple but their paths take them to different areas. Hers is the bottom of the sea with all its underwater dangers and him as a spy to a village controlled by Al Qaeda.

I am one of those people who enjoy happily ever after and is left disappointed when that doesn't happen. If you are one of those who that isn't important to then this is a good watch.

Warning: Spoilers
One thing to remember when reviewing IFC Midnight is they make B movies. They are either very very likable or very very hatable. There is rare;y any in between. This one to me was one of the likables.

A business man inherits a company from his family and in order to afford to keep the company in the usa he has to let alot of people go. This leads to people who have worked there for generations to be extremely ticked off. They begin to make threats on his life and that of his daughter. So he hires a bodyguard to drive her around and watch over for her. As the story plays out we have him taking her and her friends to a party which because of bad behavior they leave early. Kidnappers try to make a grab for her and in escaping and fleeing they end up sunken in the canal with the tide threatening to drag them out to sea. Most of movie is them trying to figure out a way out of the car before their air runs out or the car floods whichever comes first. It has extra time because i is an enhanced limo. You see all the drama and all the emotion that come out of people being trapped together in a fatal situation. Some of it is irritating...but it is true to human reaction and thus understandable.

This movie is an exciting roller coaster ride of emotions. You feel them all from seeing their joy, anger, sadness fear and revenge

Disappointed

Warning: Spoilers
The movie about a girl, who after the death of her parents in a fire, moves into a house with her sister in a new town. The girl is gifted with psychic abilities but is doubted by others including the sister. She makes new friends who aren't all who they promise to be. She goes around snapping pictures and begun to see 2 girls who were murdered 20 years prior.

The movie does a good job of telling the story and is easy to follow along. It has ups and downs, a few mind shocking moments and a few disappointments. Unfortunately the ending is one of those disappointment as its not actually finished. Is this leaving it open for a part 2? I would have thought so and went searching but alas there is no part 2 and as this was done 9 years ago I doubt one is forth coming
