South Park (Not Suitable for Children) (2023)
Quite a bit better than the previous Paramount+ "exclusives"
Unlike the preceding Paramount "specials", this one actually didn't make me physically sick to the stomach, wondering what in the world this show has come to. Was it anything spectacular? No, not really. We got to see some Randy Marsh peepee and it highlighted how problematic influencing children using social media has gotten, actually in a somewhat funny/clever South Park way. Finally one of these Paramount+ "exclusives" didn't feel like a soul crushingly poor AI generated Netflix series crossover. Although it still had plenty of things that didn't feel right, at least it was worthy as an extension to the PC Principal series.
Apostle (2018)
"Mother nature" quite litterally
It's an interesting concept, it takes the term "mother nature" quite litterally. But its execution varies. The story is good, the mood is well put, its frames are taken very well, the characters are fitting, the special effects are realistic, it contains creative parts and I like the attention to detail. But on the down side, the acting of some characters is overdone or unrealistic, the disturbing aspect is overdone on some parts, and some parts are illogical and unrealistic. But overall, it's quite well done and fun to watch.
The Human Centipede (First Sequence) (2009)
Good concept, moderate execution
Its concept is truely original, it's quite a suprise no sadistic mind has come up with it before. That's why its such a pity its execution is rather moderate. Mainly because of the characters too excessive acting, making it feel staged; the stage and the circumstances feeling too clean for a horror; too much detail, especially around the operation itself and the tormenting of the centipede, appears to have been left out; the abduction of the truckdriver and the attemt to escape that could've easily have been left out, and instead showing the abduction of the asian guy and a better ending; the surgeon being too nice to his experiment as a sadist and the start of a "horror" featuring two pretty girls getting lost, is unoriginal to say the least.
As mentioned before, the end could've been a lot better. It screamed for a section where the last living section of the centipede, would cut the tissue of the other sections with the piece of glass, for her to be able to get help with the bits of the others still attached to her face.
