The Wonderful World of Disney: The Love Bug (1997)
Herbie:Resurrection
"Witness the Resurrection"-Alien:Resurrection (1997)
"Herbie's back in a Brand new movie!"-The Love Bug (1997)
The tag lines of the worst movies of '97...with the same meaning.
The first thing what I want to say, I am A REALLY BIG FAN of Herbie 'cause I was grow up on his films, I loved the jokes the tricks, the music and the characters-even the evil ones-and I'll love the "Herbie Movies" as long as I live.
But NOT THIS waste of celluloid. This movie is stupid, pesky, and bad as "Alien:Resurrection".
Why? Because the story is VERY stupid, the characters are simply idiots-professor Stumpfel(?!)-and the theme music is pesky, just like in "Alien:Resurrection".
And the worst thing in the whole movie: Horace, The Evil Twin of Herbie. Laughably Stupid. Just like the "Newborn-Alien" in "Alien:Resurrection".
And, the genesis of Herbie. Stupid! I mean who's idea was , Herbie was build by a German SCIENTIST, AND HE HAS GOT HIS "SOUL" FROM THE PHOTOGRAPH OF STUMPFEL'S GIRLFRIEND, WHAT FALLED INTO THE MELTING-POT?! BAD! And of course they've needed to build-again Herbie, It's the synonym of cloning Ripley, ain't? And the music, the music, the music, where is the good old "Herbie Theme" by George Bruns? Now We get only a corny, pesky, SILLY, BAD music. And where are the good old characters like Tennessee Steinmetz(Buddy Hackett) or Wheely Applegate(Don Knotts) or anybody from the original stuff?
THE ORIGINAL IS ALWAYS THE BEST!
So, if you are a Herbie-fan,or you just like Herbie movies, watch the old ones.
1/10- STUPID plot; BAD music; BAD characters.
Garfield: The Movie (2004)
Saving private Odie
STUPID PLOT, BAD CHARACTERS, UNFUNNY.
You know I grow up on Garfield comics and cartoons, and when I heard It's gonna' be a "Garfield Movie" I tough It's gonna' be awesome. No It isn't. It's a really Bad version of all Garfield films what ever made! The story is REALLY BAD:
Jon adopts Odie; an old bald guy called "Happy Chapman" kidnaps Odie, and gives him to his show; Garfield rescues Odie and gives home. And THIS IS THE *WHOLE* STORY!!! And NOTHING I *MEAN* NOTHING ELSE!
Garfiled IS NOT LAZY and he is DANCING (!?!?!?), Jon is not goofy enough, rather a "faceles nice guy", Liz is not strict, rather an "easy" woman, Nermal is TOO stupid, and Odie ISN'T LOOKS LIKE THE COMIC VERSION! And the worst thing is: only Garfield is animated, while Nermal, Arlene and Odie "played" by real living animals. The actors and the acting was *quite good*, but the other things are forgettable.
JON NEVER GET THE WOMAN!
So,I don't like the film at all and I WILL NOT SEE THIS AGAIN!
As you can see EVERY times *THIS* happens, when some incompetent fools makes movie from an old series or comic. I would rather see Garfield cartoons, they are MUCH better!
3.5/10-Easyly forgettable
The Big Country (1958)
Boring REALLY boring
I can't say anything else it's BORING!
Well, it's NOT a Clint Eastwood styled "Spagethi western" where the Men with no name shoots bad guys, rather a drama, but quite enjoyable. There is NO any good shootout scenes or fights, just some disgusting murders, only for a horse's drinker place. Gregory Peck is a REALLY GOOD actor, but this film is not his best. The music is good, the actors are good, the places are beautiful, but the story is BORING!! John McKay (Gregory Peck) a pacifist ship captain, arrives to a village to marriage the beautiful Patricia Terill (Caroll Baker) the daughter of Major Terill, but He suddenly falls into the old conflict of the Major and Mr. Hannasey. But He doesn't want to fight, because He thinks this is an old, disgusting conflict of two silly old fools. And the end of the film He can't shoot Blakie Hannasey, the evilest guy in town. He's every times a pacifist.
I think It's NOT REALLY a western, rather a dramatic soap-opera. If you think this is a "wild" western, well it's not. But someone would think "This is the best western what ever made", well I think It's not. The Oscar-won music is really good, and really good for this film!
To tell the truth I'm not really enjoyed this film, and I will NOT see this again.
4.5/10-boring story, good actors, good music.
