Starts slow, buy gets way better at the second half. Would recommend to watch
7 August 2021
So, episode 1 is introduction. Pretty much the same material like any other Netflix thriller series. From the second episode and on, at some parts, it felt like they put a lot of fillers and irrelevant small storylines of the characters.

I would say that from second half 5-6th episode it gets way better. It's no Breaking Bad, but for for Netflix standards, it's above average. A great solid thriller! Especially the second half .Good storyline and good buildup till the end. Each episode it gets better and more intense, more twists and more "thriller like" series . I actually didn't expect it to get better after the first few episodes, but I was surprised to find out it did, so I am glad I watched it.

One of the great few Horror Movies you might miss, because of some negative reviews
29 May 2021
This is a really great horror/thriller movie, with a great thought provoking concept about the combination of Buddhism and Horror.

The execution might be better of course, i wouldn't argue about that. In some ways, this movie sticks to the basics, but at other parts it's not, and there is some originality that makes it darker and deeper, that other main horror movies fail to execute.

If you connect to the things i wrote, i would recommend for you to watch this movie.

Vikings: The Last Act (2020)
Season 6, Episode 20
10/10
This was a Powerful ending to the story of the Vikings
27 February 2021
Don't mind the reviews. Although some characters throughout the series are not real, and some real ones didn't have actual dots in reality, the storyline written by Michael Hirst truly tells their story in a great way, with an even greater ending.

People are lowering the ratings for this terrific ending because of pointless nuances, like who rules Kattegat at the end, and miss the whole point. Really, who the hell cares? Have you missed the other great scenes, the conversations, the kinship of brotherhood? The heroic deaths? The philosophical awakening of Floki? Why are you so disturbed by such non important matters, because you didn't get the exact ending you were expecting by which is familiar?

It is really uneasy to find conversations orchestrated like in Vikings. They are well made. Especially at the last episode.

I truly hope that the sequel of the Vikings will be as great as this show, and Netflix will not ruin it (and i worry they have the ability to do so).

No way this movie gets only 6.6
8 February 2021
If you like sci fi movies, with a great script, storyline, interesting characters, and pack of humor and action, without being childish and dumb, or dumbing down your audience - this movie is definitely for you.

Do not hesitate, just because it's Korean, or some other reason, it beats up late Star War movies and even Guardians of the galaxy by a landslide.

This is definitely 10/10, just because it is very hard to create nowadays days a sci fi cgi movie, without jeopardizing the storyline.

This is probably the worst episode in the series
4 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
50 minutes of a woman speaking to her dead wife about some boring usual stuff. Yep. This is the whole episode. Sorry for spoiling it ( I put a warning "sign").

At least, other episodes (so far) had more character development, more storyline, more symbolism between mental illness and supernatural. This one is straight to your face, without any layers, and just drama like dialogs.

All in all. Not a bad series. But this episode was uncooked.

Great Movie
14 September 2020
Sometimes i felt uncomfortable with the fact the grandpa and grandson are acting in ways that can put both of them in to a Hospital very quickly, or even far worst. But, storyline and acting are great, and just to remind you, this is a Comedy after all, so if you wouldn't take the sadistic family play too seriously, you will enjoy it.

All in all. A very fun Movie. They don't do much of that lately, especially with an A league actors.

I wrote a review especially to highlight the fact that far worst Movies scored higher. So, it is a well made movie to it's genre.

Well, they've ruined everything
17 July 2020
Each episode it gets more and more detached from the novel. But this is not the main problem. I don't mind that some adaptations are taking another direction from the source. The main issue with this mini series, is that the main concept is just literally gone.

Instead of telling a story of an individual fighting against a dystopic society, it becomes a generic cliché of a romantic love story like any other show. John is supposed to be an intellectual human being, fond of Shakespeare, a noble savage. Instead, in this show, he is just another angry dude who falls in love with a pretty girl. Dialogs are sometimes good, and sometimes bad. there are some good moments.

I would like to emphasize again, that i don't mind the fit into the new era, and some changes are understandable. The problem is that it always looks the same. The main core of the book's atmosphere and idea is gone.

Big disappointment.

Homecoming (2018–2020)
Season 2 is as great as season 1
24 May 2020
It's actually a direct continuation of the first season, and wrapping it up, in a way. I wasn't sure i would like it, trailer made me think that this is going to be more jumpy than the first season. But i was wrong. The story is coherent, and leads to a very good final. They also tried to make it as realistic as they can, and not create a shocking idiotic storyline. And i respect that. Janelle Monae's lead role was pretty decent, but the greatest surprise was Chris Cooper as Leonard, the grumpy pessimistic owner of the Geist company. Overall, a very good continuation. even without Julia Roberts as leading role (she and raimi are still executive producers), new writers and director didn't disappoint.

Westworld: Genre (2020)
Season 3, Episode 5
I really think this episode was excellent
15 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Great dialogs, great cinematography and great acting.

I've read some of the reviews that gave it a 1/10. I really tried to figure out if the criticism is justified. But sorry, most of them are trying really hard to write bad things about it. For instance, action above dialogs - have they watched the last season? It has pretty good dialogs compared to other shows. For instance, details about transactions and corporations, not bad at all. Most other shows would go to far less details. Cinematography and music choice in the last episode was great. Some scenes are top movie level. One review wrote about the lack of bernards role in this episode (so what, each episode focuses on different characters). The same goes for the criticism about the lack of background of serac and his brothers family and why they don't tell us why paris was blown up. Seriously? Why we have to know that. Some things are left for one's own imagination to figure out. And oddly, some 1/10 reviews looked the same.

This is a great season. And a great episode. If you didn't like season 2 like me, season 3 is definitely a great surprise and a major improvement.

Superman: Red Son (2020 Video)
10/10
One of the best of DC animated movies since "Under The Red Hood" in my opinion
25 February 2020
The movie starts from the point of superman's childhood under the dictatorship of Stalin. I will not throw any specific details, but it is built in an excellent way to express many political ideologies and the clash between them like : communism vs capitalism, the collective vs the individual, men vs women, humanity vs AI, order vs chaos. And it still preserves a realistic atmosphere.

The timeline is fit to the original development of the cold war era with a "what if" storyline of superman serving under the soviet union.

Really recommend this movie. Deserves better score that the current one right now.

Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)

Don't believe the fake reviews
24 January 2020
I had to check it out myself.

If you are a Star Trek fan, that show is only nostalgic to some characters, but lacks the substance of Star Trek.

If you are looking for another woke boring drama series, without any substance, that is definitely for you.

The only thing i liked about the first episode, was the opening scene and the poker game between Captain picard and Captain data. Afterwards, it was the same boring storyline like other series.

I feel that they brought old characters to manipulate viewers thinking this is going to be something different. As i have heard, after the end of the first season, none of the original characters will not participate at the series anyway.

This series and this season deserves more attention

What an episode. What a respect to vikings traditions and the character of Lagertha.

Every scene in this episode had a meaning. Nothing was there just to fill the gap.

Very well done!

This was the best episode of the season so far!
9 January 2020
Big improvement from last weeks episode. Hope they will stick with this kind of story telling and dark atmosphere till the end of the series.

Compared to last week, this one was much more realistic, and did not focus only in one specific character without developing the story.

Great one on one fight scenes as well.

Haters will be haters. This is a very good show!
1 January 2020
I guess, some people are ranking this show with low rank, because of a political bias, and not on the basis of whether they liked the show or not.

I have only watched 2 episodes, to be honest. And so far, i really enjoyed it. It reminds homeland in a way, but in a mini-series format, what makes the story more focused.

The aspect of religion tense and the fact that this show made some people p**ed off, makes it even more interesting.

Great show to open the new year and decade. I really recommend to watch.

Cats (2019)

Wow. Thanks for the laughs!
23 December 2019
Just the think of the professional cast and the high budget that was poured into this film, made this joke even funnier.

10/10 - for making me laugh so strong.

Yep. Reviews on IMDB were right. I needed to verify it myself.

It's like watching a long commercial break with cats promoting different products and wishing the break will be over as soon as possible.

For 30 minutes, it's pretty funny. After that, not so much. Laughs are replaced with a feeling of torture. I would play this movie 100 times to my worst enemies.

An Amazing Film!
20 December 2019
This is one of the greatest action movies i have seen in years. I don't get what's wrong with the reviews lately , especially the so called "professional" ones.

They praise b movies and series and downgrade movies like that.

It is noticeable that so much effort was made to make this movie work. The action scenes, stunts, camera movements, act. The scene with the magnets is a visual masterpiece. And overall, every scene is full with details.

Vikings: New Beginnings (2019)
Season 6, Episode 1
Great episode!
15 December 2019
I have a respect for this show. I don't mind the accuracy of history, i am well aware not all is accurate, but only the existence of characters and the time period and big history events. Other things are created for the sake of the story telling. But still, this show is building the vikings world with a very honorable manner. The fact that you can see the characters speak 3 languages at the same time - old rus/nordic/and english is not obvious in our era. So its much more realistic then other history shows. And actors are russian/nordic/british/canadian.

The person that plays Oleg is a very good actor and great add to storyline. script is still very good. I find something in the script of this show very unique. Can't explain why but it has Great conversations. Especially between oleg and ivar in this and next episode.

Can't believe the good reviews. this is a false advertisement!
14 December 2019
I gave it a try after the good reviews people gave to this show.

But this was so low. Very b movie style script, acting not very good . Watched 2 episodes and wanted to skip the boring emotional dialogs. Is this really a scifi show or a soap opera?

Watchmen: A God Walks into Abar (2019)
Season 1, Episode 8

Terrible Episode, For one major reason !
10 December 2019
The whole point of Dr Manhattan is that he his Super Powers make him eventually apathetic towards Human Kind. This episode, on the other hand, reveals the creators Pseudo-Philosophical c*appy approach and makes Dr Manhattan the dude who gets a crush towards his girlfriend or the 10 years married guy that argues with his wife about everyday silly stuff.

Now, the dialogs seen in this episode would be fine for a Romantic Drama show, maybe even a bit better then most, but this is not the concept of Watchmen and the creator is ruining it entirely. Especially the philosophical approach of the atmosphere of characters presented in the comic books and The Movie.

And why Dr Manhattan looks like Aladdin's genie from the NewWalt Dysney Picture? I don't mind that the new Dr Manhattan proccesed the looks of the husband, but still,it was a lame appearance in total.

I haven't been excited about a series that much since the era of breaking bad
26 November 2019
This is a classic! Old fashioned tv in the best way it can be!

This is a real star wars universe unlike the new movies which i have no idea what they are supposed to be.

Well done for the creators! They need to lift up Star Wars and bring it back to the origins!

Didn't like it. Period!
4 October 2019
It did not feel like an Epic History series. they did not portrayed Catherine the great in a suitable way.

Helen Mirren is a great actress. but why the hell would she agree to play a chcaracter at her 30's while she is 74 years old in real life. it is a total disrespect to viewers. it was rediculous to watch all the love and sex scenes that felt forced.

script was also bad. They could use dialoges more suited to time period and not write lousy dialogs with lots of cursing and too much emotional expression.

waste of time.

A cartoon Soap Opera
13 September 2019
I was really expecting something else. The dialogs are like a teen soap opera in a cartoon. I kept skipping parts because i felt there was nothing special. I expected it to be mysterious and creative, but it was just rubbish dialogs going and going about nothing. Trailer made it look like somethings else though. but it was only the trailer.

The I-Land (2019)

Oh Look! There's a show that is not an "Opiate of the masses" , So let's trash its rank down!
13 September 2019
This is the first time i have an urge to write down a Review, because i have never felt such a gap between what i have watched to what is the actual rank that this series was given by some People\Trolls\Bots\Disney style charcter and story lovers.

This series has got one of the most unique story lines that i have ever watched. It is not different than any other shows in many ways by the Dystopian Atmosphere that it tries to create, but it makes a difference in its Charchter Building.

Yes, most viewers expect something familiar when they watch a new show. Something they have seen before someplace else . People's minds are so fixated, that when some creator is trying to build characters in a different way, they totally "freak out". In this series, it is not easy to feel sympathy towards some of the characters, There is almost no Victimisation that is so typical to other shows around. That's what makes it complex, it makes you think more deeply about human nature and not labeling the good and the bad guys so easily. Although, of course there are some protagonists that you might feel that way towards them, but the general point is to abolish the sympathy and view the Human Nature and the absurdity of it without too much labels. and by that, the creator nailed it.

Still, other things are good as well. Acting is not that bad, though i have seen better. storyline is built in a very good way. some people compared it to "Lost". Trust me, it is nothing like Lost. "Lost" is like a clean laundry compared to this, and it is full of a Pseudo-Philosophical Preaching (still talking about Lost). On the other hand, this show is more harsh. Characters seems pretty realistic, Exaggerated in some ways, but pretty realistic in their dialogs and act. The story is chronoligal and is built towards the end accordingly (unlike Lost). And most importantly, the creator of "Lost" and the creator of "The I-Land" (also the writer and director) have a totally different point of view about Human Nature (read about him), and this might be the basics.

Do a favor to yourselves ,and the next time you have any doubts about watching a Movie or a Show, read about the Director/creator/writer first, it made me analyze the show in a better way. What you shouldn't do is to not rush yourselves to read the reviews before you check any backround, because 2019 reviews are getting less and less reliable, and it is getting worst each year.
