Penny Dreadful (2014)
Sick and Satanic
I don't know what drugs the writers of this series are on. The show is way over the top with gore, child sacrifices, and beyond disturbing storylines. Yes, I know it's fiction. I just don't need these sick images rolling around in my head. Too much.
Jeremiah (1998)
Drastically abbreviated but good
You must approach this film for what it is. This is a dramatic summary of the Book of Jeremiah. This is not a word for word documentary from the Bible. So of course liberties are taken for dramatic effect and time constraints.
Watching the film from this perspective allows you to just enjoy the story. The events within the book itself are clearly not presented but an amalgam of said events is. The acting is good (overall) and do is the production value.
From my point of view ANYTIME we can get ANYONE to be at least curious enough about the Word to at least watch a TV movie like this: that's a good thing.
Solos (2021)
Rubbish
Yet another leftist agenda filled program from Amazon. If only they would focus on a quality story with a compelling script instead of obsessing over drilling in their tired old mantra.....
Dopesick (2021)
Hmmmm pretty relevant right now
Gee, I wonder how big pharma feels about this series? It's sad that after all these years we haven't learned anything. Big pharma has pushed the jab harder than they did with ozy yet they got us again. How do they sleep at night...
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts (2022)
Heartfelt celebration
This dictionary was so great. Yes, you get background information on the films and process. However, the best part of this film is the interaction between the actors. Clearly they all hold each other in high regard and sincere love.
The three main actors obviously appreciate everything that being part of the Potter phenomenon has done for them. This was a terrific way to celebrate the series.
Ted Lasso: Midnight Train to Royston (2021)
Oh, more lefty messaging...great
It seems this season is all about attacking religion and pushing the lefty agenda. Although this specific episode was better than the last few, it was still not up to par with the earlier part of the season or any of season one. It would be wonderful if the writers would stick to the premise of the show rather than trying to add political jabs wherever possible. Hollywood doesn't like conservatives. Ok, we get it...can we move on now? The show has been successful as a quirky comedy that didn't take itself too seriously. It would be splendid if they could get back to that premise.

Second season review
Great characters and performances. The show is still well written. However, this season is so heavy handed that it's hard to ignore the far left message. All conservative characters are one dimensional evildoers. Nothing in the real world is so black and white.
There are good, law abiding immigrants. There are bad, terrorist immigrants. It's not as simple as portrayed in this show. The last two episodes really lay it on thick.why is it that liberals cannot help themselves from lecturing the viewers? It's insulting.
The Chosen (2017)
Exceeded expectations
It's always hit or miss with Biblical based films and TV series. How much artistic license is too much? Is it ever ok to add/subtract from the Holy Bible? The Christian answer to those questions would be "none" and "no".
That said, I found myself completely enthralled by The Chosen from start to finish. Did people in the time of Jesus use contemporary vocabulary and phrasing as they do in this series? Of course not! They didn't speak English either. The point is that it would be easy to pick apart this series.
I would rather view this series with the intent with which is was made. It gives the viewer a possible inside view of how these historical figures lived in the time of Jesus. I enjoyed the fleshing out of these figures and the sheer magnitude of what it must have been like for them in the presence of the Lord.
The show is well written, well acted, and thoroughly enjoyable. If you are looking for a transcript of the Gospels acted out in this TV show, you should definitely not watch it. If you are looking for an entertaining adaptation of the Gospels with a great deal of artistic license designed to give you a "fly in the wall" sense of what it was like to have been in the presence of the Lord.......take a chance in The Chosen. It's fantastic!
Hunters (2020)
Interesting premise executed horribly
Pacino does not overact as he is normally prone to do. That's the good news. The characters are not believable. The lefty propaganda is forced down your throat every few minutes. I watch TV to be entertained, not to be indoctrinated. I made it through three episodes and couldn't take it anymore.
Outer Banks (2020)
Painful
The acting is subpar. The story is weak. The lefty lecturing is transparent (Rich people are BAD). The first few episodes were watchable but as the series continued each episode became more and more painful to get through (even without paying too close attention).
The Sinner (2017)
Season 3 SUCKS!
Loved this show for the first two seasons. We were excited for season three. However, this season is a huge disappointment. The first episode showed promise but quickly went down hill. We know who the killer is. We know what his motivation is. I do not care that Bill Pull,Ann's character is going through an emotional crossroad. The writing is lazy. The acting is ham handed. Matt Bomer seems to think his blue eyes can handle all the acting for him. It's just unfortunate.
The Kominsky Method: Chapter 9. An Actor Forgets (2019)
They ruined a great show
Season one was fresh, funny, and engaging. Within ten minutes of the first episode of season 2 there were multiple political rants that had absolutely nothing to do with the plot or anything the characters had ever referenced before. Clearly the writer felt the need to force feed his political views upon the viewers he should have been providing entertainment for. I can handle politics in a show about politics. I don't want it in a comedy especially when it is so heavy handed it feels like being hit on the head with a sledgehammer. You want to make a show about politics, go right ahead. Please don't ram it down my throat in a show like this.
