Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
This film will certainly divide audiences
Another great Tarantino film, though I do agree there are times where it feels a little indulgent and meandering. The climax of the film is fantastic though, and it does make it feel like it was all worth it for the most part. There isn't really a defined narrative, which may put some people off but Tarantino's sublime dialogue and the great performances make all of the scenes at least entertaining. It's no Pulp Fiction, but it definitely is one of the most original films I've seen in a while.
Midsommar (2019)
Going into this movie blind provides the best experience
There's really not much I can say that other people haven't. The cinematography, direction, and performances were all absolutely incredible. I was worried that I would become bored due to the runtime and slow pace, but I was completely engaged the entire duration of the film. It somehow remains incredibly disturbing but also beautiful at the same time. I'll definitely be seeing this again.
