Star Wars: Squadrons (2020)
Super immersive and fun
Let me start this off by saying that this game is not for everyone. If you have no interest in flight sims you probably won't like this because it's basically just a Star Wars flight sim. Now that I've got that out of the way, this game is so much fun. I have had an absolute blast over the past 5 days singlehandedly taking down star destroyers, escaping ships right as they explode, escaping asteroid fields with an explosion chasing me, drifting in space, and a lot more.On top of all that you can play it in VR with a joystick. It's honestly some of the most fun I've had in a Star Wars game. Ok now I'll talk about the story. It's fine. That's really it. The story itself is nothing special but the fun gameplay really enhances it. While the story itself isn't great, the missions in the campaign can be a lot of fun. One part that really stood out is when you get to fly inside the center of an imperial listening post, blow a bunch of stuff up, and then fly out with an explosion right behind you as the doors are closing. It was super cinematic and immersive, I felt like I was actually in a movie. Another thing I kinda liked was that your character isn't really anything special. In almost every Star Wars game, your character is either a Jedi/force user or a leader of some elite squad. In this game you're just a pilot, and I kinda like it. You aren't the leader of anything, you aren't part of some special family or group, you're just a regular person in the Star Wars universe. Some people might not like that but I kind of enjoyed not being the center of the universe in a video game. Ok now the multiplayer. The multiplayer is a lot better than I was anticipating. The dogfight mode is only a 5v5 deathmatch on a huge map, but somehow still has constant action and doesn't feel too big or too slow. Fleet battles are awesome because it feels like an actual war in the stars. The flagships have actual systems you can take down instead of just shooting one spot on their hull for 3 hours. they both have shield systems, targeting, power, and tractor beams, plus a ton of cannons and turrets, all of which can be destroyed. Star Wars squadrons is just a great experience and a ton of fun , and they have GONK droid bobble heads that you can put in your ship so it's automatically a good game for that. The last thing I want to say is that if you have VR and/or a joystick, use them. This game is 10x as fun with those. And it's only $40.
Batman: Arkham Knight (2015)
My favorite Arkham game
I can't deny the brilliance of Arkham city but I just love this game so much.
I'll start with the cons. Yes the batmobile is used too much but it was fun enough that it didn't bother me too much. When I started playing this game I didn't know much about Batman lore and comics, so I didn't see the Arkham knight being Jason Todd coming as much as other people did. After I played this I started getting into the comics more and I could definitely see how people saw that coming from a mile away.
Ok now the stuff I liked. This games graphics were years ahead of its time and still hold up very well today. the combat has been perfected in this game. I sometimes spend hours flying around Gotham knocking out criminals because of how much fun the combat is. The batmobile combat/driving is also very good. It's definitely overused, but still fun to play. I love how they've brought skins from movies and shows into this game. The redesign of the Batman beyond skin is just incredible. The new batsuit that you use during the story is also really cool. I also really like that you can play as the bat family in the AR challenges and Arkham episodes. They all have their own fighting style that gives combat some variety. While the story has its flaws, I still had a lot of fun playing it. I really like the jokers involvement in it. Some people think they should just let him go but the Arkham series is about Batman and the joker. Every Arkham game has been about those two. I think my favorite thing about the Arkham games are the predator sections. Arkham knight has perfected these sections. There are so many useful gadgets and it makes me feel like Batman more than anything else. The disruptor is so much fun to use and I love listening to the thugs voices when they find their friends unconscious and don't know where I am. This game is honestly just so great. But it also has a lot of room for improvement and a lot of unused potential. I hope they make another Arkham game because this one just shows how good a Batman game can be.
Subnautica (2018)
The Best Survival Game Ever
I know that title might seem like a stretch for Minecraft fans out there but I am serious. This game is easily in my top 3 video games of all time. I'm not gonna spoil because the best part of this game is discovering what to do and how to play. PLEASE DONT SPOIL IT FOR YOURSELF. You will regret it. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos and googled everything in the beginning and I really regret it. The graphics, story, sound, gameplay, music, and overall feel of this games are just incredible. The only thing that is a bit of a problem is that it's a little bit buggy. Not much is game breaking but you probably will experience a few bugs in your play through. The last thing I have to say is how long this game is. I didn't expect it when I got this game but it can take up to 30 or 40 hours for your first play through. Get this game. Please
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
People who give 1 star didn't pay attention
I understand how the time travel didn't stick to what most movie time travel is like but hulk explained that what they do doesn't change the present and everyone is complaining about the time travel, the ancient one also explained that it doesn't change, it just opens alternate realities which were fixed when cap returned the stones.
I was a little disappointed when Thor stayed fat the entire movie. He should have just gone and done like 4000 pushups and sit-ups and gotten a haircut but it didn't bother me too much.
The final fight scene was about 30 minutes not 8 like I saw one review say. Iron mans death was so sad I almost cried because he is one of my favorite characters, but they created an awesome way for him to go.
As for cap getting old I felt like that needed to happen because if cap could wield mjolnir then it would completely mess up his character and be weird for future movies.
This movie has its downsides but the goods out weigh the bads so much that it is a great movie. P.S I doubt this will be the last avengers movie, so many more incredibly powerful villains left.
