The Green Knight (2021)
If random note jazz were a movie
If random note jazz were a movie, this would be it. Has a base underlying current which is totally painted over by random nonsensical events.
It's basically a big budget indie film that's made more for trying to wow the audience or look deep than actually having some substance.
The main character was bland and pretty unlikeable the costumes were ok but nothing special, and the music score was pretty much the same All the way through.
Overall, pretty painful.
Without Remorse (2021)
Why is everyone so bored????
All the characters walk around talking like they are bored or stoned. I got about 30 mins in, was bored to all heck, checked the IMBD reviews, saw it doesn't get better, and saved myself the rest of it.
Just don't even bother with this one.
Love and Monsters (2020)
Great light-hearted movie
Great movie. Light-hearted and entertaining.
The monsters are a little cartoonish, but look past them and enjoy the adventure.
Escape and Evasion (2019)
So many many mixed reviews
I really enjoyed this film. Yes it's fictional and doesn't follow and historical facts, but it's still great.
Go into the film expecting a drama not an action film, expecting emotions and psychology and not Rambo and you'll enjoy it too.
Fritt vilt (2006)
Not great, not bad, just predictable...
Your average 'Cabin in the woods' style slasher but in the snow.
Problems:
1) predicable, even the 'twists' at the end.
2) running around in the snow with normal clothes on without any reaction to the cold broke the realism.
3) no really likeable characters. In fact, one of them was so annoying I couldn't wait for him/her to get slashed (trying not to give too much away there).
Basically it's a movie you can watch without really paying attention, even with subtitles because it's so basic you know exactly whats going on all the time.
Not a 'must see' but yeah watch it when there's nothing else to watch and you want the TV as background noise.
[Rec] (2007)
Obnoxious, generic and the only scary thing is people think it's scary!
No character development.
Main character an annoying yapping chihuahua who won't stop yelling!
Oh and let's all stand in the hall with zombies running about and yell at eachother. That won't attract them at all!
Oh there's a little girl who's already turned and bitten her mother. Let's squat down next to her and take our eyes of her.
Wait there's a zombie behind this frosted glass door. Let me stand with my back to it so it can grab me from behind.
Creed II (2018)
Creed: The winey little b1+@h.
Hate the charater. No heart. Blames others for his own crap. Found myself cheering for Victor.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
Yep.... it is THAT bad.
It got a two because it contained a story amidst the convoluted action, but the acting was TERRIBLE, NO chemistry between the two main characters who were supposedly in love, and the dialogue was about as strong as tissue paper.
I love Luc Besson, but this one sucked a$$ big time!
47 Meters Down (2017)
Should be retitled
This movie should have been called 47 holes big enough for a giant great white shark to swim through.
Enough said.
Cloak & Dagger (2018)
Stop bloody mumbling!
World be a much better show if you could understand more of what they say.
Rocky Balboa (2006)
Great, but the greatest?
I have just finished watching Rocky Balboa (in italics as not to confuse the character with the movie title) and really enjoyed it. I am a HUGE fan of the Rocky series and have watched the previous 5 many times. My friends say I am a living encyclopedia of the Rocky series, and I take that as a complement!
I have to admit that originally I was worried that the new addition would cheapen the name of Rocky. Some people have labeled it a cash cow for Stallone, but I don't agree. It is a great movie in its own right and should be seen by any fan of the original 5.
To compare Rocky Balboa to the original 5 I would have to say it like this: Rocky Balboa is the only real movie since Rocky to be able to compare the 'under dog' feeling. Yes I would agree that Rocky II also had a great under dog feeling to it, but not like the first. In the first, Rocky was a no body stepping into the ring with an awesome champion.
I would have to say that Rocky IV had the best impossible fight. I don't want to say too much about Rocky Balboa or I will spoil things, but once you see the film, I'm sure you will understand.
I would actually have to say the movie with the most feeling would be Rocky V. I know many people would not agree, but I think that is because people were expecting to see Rocky pull himself out of his bankruptcy, but he didn't. He did however pull himself out of the life problems of his family falling apart. And that's the golden key. That's what Rocky is all about, His life out of the ring. People did not watch Rocky V for the movie itself, which was actually great! The scene with Mick and Rocky where Mick gives Rocky the golden glove from Rocky Marciano's cufflink still holds the record for making my friend cry hardest!
Rocky Balboa was/is great! I really do recommend it.
P.S I really liked the motif in the restaurant that was a painting of the punches between Balboa and Creed that was the closing shot in Rocky III.
