The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth (2024)
Depiction of the Upper Class involving true crime in India
Oh my! As soon as this woman (Indrani) started talking to the camera it became utterly clear she was involved in the disappearance of her daughter. Her righteous attitude towards everyone around her. She treats everyone with disdain including her "lawyer". She keeps using the entire rhetoric of the doco to just give her facts, her specific dates, and accounts. She manipulates everyone even behind the camera, barking orders. Where is the empathy towards her family? Her children? This woman should be in jail and not be allowed to profit from her daughter's death. That text message Rahul received about the break up coming from Sheena, it was clearly sent by Idrani. It's a fascinating view into the upper class in India, and how violence against women can come from the hand of other women.
Crime Diaries: The Celebrity Stylist (2023)
Appalling
What's with the whispering? The actress is frustrating and overacting every scene, always striking a pose instead of talking loud enough to be engaging. The acting overall is very poor as well, there's a lack of empathy displayed by the main characters. The writing doesn't help either, there is no developing of the characters or a thorough explanation of how they got there. The editing and direction is very appalling as well. I think there's an assumption everybody is familiar with the story, which I was not. What is the point of this show? Like many other say the plot is obvious from the beginning. You get better storytelling from YouTube channels.
