Watch something else
My thought at the end of the film was appropriately 'What's next?' I have always believed that a good film, book, etc. has a beginning, middle, and end. This film has a beginning and middle which are both very good and appear to be building up to a climactic ending. It is this that lets the film down.
The acting is good all round and it was good to see Peter Falk being as understated as usual. It is only the acting and editing/direction that get it a vote of 4/10.
It looks like the producers want to give another shot at creating another film.
What a waste of time and money!
Beerfest (2006)
Missable - for those with no humour
I know this film will get a lot of negative write ups from people. I just hope it is taken for what it is - banal, cheap production values, but VERY funny. Yes, the production is full of goofs but what do you expect? Just get your friends around, crack open a few tinnies, and chill out - if you can find time between laughing. Some of the antics at the contest just reminded me of some of the things my friends and I did all those years ago at university - in fact I think we were worse! If you have a sense of humour you will enjoy this. If you do not enjoy mindless drinking and general mayhem then watch 'On Golden Pond' or 'Driving Miss Daisy'!
Little Miss Jocelyn (2006)
Don't waste your time
If you have the sense to read here before you waste your time watching the programme then I congratulate you.
This is positively terrible. It's pseudo comedy with dreadful acting verging on ham. I thought the idea of a comedy was to make people laugh. Sorry, I spent the first 4 programmes looking for a joke but couldn't find one.
It seems to rely on repetition as a way of getting a point across and does so in a childish manner. I would expect that high school students could not only write a better script, but would also expect some original and funny material from them.
It's no wonder people in the UK complain about having to pay a licence fee. This programme shows the worst side of British Talent and the BBC.
Don't bother watching this rubbish.
EuroTrip (2004)
Better than I ever expected
I came about this film by accident as I was searching for a National Lampoon film at the time. Euro Trip is far better written and executed than any of the Lampoon films. It's portrayal of the English as hooligans may be far off the mark but with Vinnie Jones playing the 'head' of the Manchester United Fan Club as an out and out hooligan it is brilliant. It is refreshing to see another side of British Culture(!) other than the bowler hat.
I have seen the film three times and will make sure I see it again. The scenes with the creepy Italian guy had me in stitches especially after 'the long tunnel' when he is casually smoking an 'after' cigarette.
Club Vandersexx - Hans, Gruber - Die Hard anyone? Fantastic throwaway joke.
