So much fun!
I absolutely love this show. It's such a unique concept and is entertaining the entire way. The actors in it are great. Very quirky and upbeat. I just finished season 3 and Amazon better renew for season 4. It left with a cliff hanger that we have to get answers to.
I have recommended this show to many friends. I love offbeat comedies and this show is definitely that. I can't really compare it to any other shows since this one is such an original concept. I love all the CGI in it as well.
Definitely recommend this show to those who like to laugh. I read some lower rated reviews and those people seem to just want something to complain about. This show is made for those of us who have a sense of humor.
The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)
Great adaption!
I always look forward to Mike Flanagan's work. Midnight Mass has become my all-time favorite mini series. The storyline, the dialog, the acting = perfection. After that series my expectations were obviously high. I have to say, after binging it in 2 nights, the ending held strong. I absolutely loved the final episode. Reading the negative reviews on here, most of them only watched one or two episodes. These are people who just want to complain. You can't judge an entire series off of the first episode. Also, all the pearl clutching over a few sex scenes made me laugh.
If you are an adult and you like good horror with great dialog, this show is for you. This series is a wonderful adaption to multiple Edgar Allan Poe stories. Proceed if you dare.
Halloween Wars (2011)
So glad Jonathan Bennett is back!
Halloween Wars has been my favorite Halloween show I look forward to every year. I will tell you though, the last 2 seasons with Zak Bagans was bad, real bad. I couldn't even finish last season. They literally took everything away that made it great. The small scare and big scare are everything. The pumpkin carvings are a must! Don't remove that. Jonathan Bennett is the best host they've ever had and I was so sad they replaced him with the cringe Zac Bagans. Kudos for Halloween Wars to listening to all the reviews here and bringing back the old style of the show. You have made a bunch of viewers very happy. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.
Barbie (2023)
She's everything! He's just Ken.
Fantastic movie! The writing and storyline is so much deeper than I could have imagined for a Barbie movie. I loved this movie so much that I saw it twice opening week and plan to buy it once it hits streaming. I think women and girls of all ages will love it. I know plenty of guys who like it as well. It's smart, funny, clever, deep, thoughtful, etc. I was actually in tears during the America Ferrera monolog. These actors are all amazing. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gossling were the perfect Barbie and Ken. The music was amazingly hilarious. The Ken battle scene cracked me up so much. Greta Gerwig is a phenomenal. I loved her version of Little Women and this is every bit as good. Barbie is a must see. Don't wait, go see it now!
Spin Me Round (2022)
A fun movie
I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was unique and fun. I loved all the characters. I was glad it wasn't an actual romance movie. I liked how she stood strong at the end and didn't succumb to his charms to continue to get gaslit.
As far as all the negative reviews go, I realize how people just love to complain for no reason. This movie was legit good, but it didn't go along with their traditional narrative of 'girl meets boy' scenario. This movie isn't for anyone who likes mindless romance movies. Strong, independent women will like this movie. If you are one, then I recommend. Don't pay attention to all the pearl clutching whiny people.
Clock (2023)
New concept in horror
I really enjoyed this movie. I found it to be relatable as another woman who doesn't want children. Nowadays I know more women who don't want children than do and I think its great. How many of us repeatedly have been asked when we are going to have children is so obnoxious and its very insulting, but unfortunately that's the world we live in.
I really enjoyed the conversation the protagonist had with the doctor as to why she doesn't want to bring a child into this world. It really resonated with me. Her reasoning is due to her ancestors living through the holocaust and why she wouldn't want to bring a child into this world. I don't want to give anything away, but that scene was very thought provoking.
This movie won't be for everyone, but for those able to look at things objectively I think you will enjoy it. I can see myself rewatching it again in a few years since it's a story that sticks in your mind.
Servant (2019)
Spectacular series
This series is great. M. Night Shyamalan is brilliant, like always. This show leaves you hanging from one episode to another. It's dark. It's mysterious. It's everything a horror series should be. The acting is great. Without giving anything away, majority of the series is filmed inside the house. It gives you a sufficating feeling, but in a good way because the house is stunning. It's an actual home Shyamalan found on Philadelphia on Spruce street. The owners agreed to let them film there. They decorated it, painted & wall papered the walls for the show. They also built a duplicate set that matched the house for certain scenes. It's so cool seeing how much work went into this. I totally recommend this show. I will be rewatching it every few years I'm sure.
Hello Tomorrow! (2023)
Mixed feelings. Visually stunning. Story is slow.
I really wanted to love this show. I thought we would see them actually on the moon instead of seeing a conman scamming them on a product that isn't there. I think seeing them live on the moon would have taken the show to a whole new level. For what we got, I think it was drawn out. I think they could have done this season in about 6 episodes instead of 10.
I will say, I did really like the finale episode of season 1. If season 2 happens, I hope they work on building condos/houses on the moon and we are able to see them actually living there. He's a conman, but maybe he'll be able to redeem himself.
I'm eager to see what happens to the people on the rocket. Will they make it to the moon and see there's no timeshares, or will Jack find out they are on the rocket and reroute it back to earth before finding out?
The Last of Us: Long, Long Time (2023)
Best stand-alone episode
This is the best strand-alone episode I have ever seen. I did not want it to end. I have not felt this much roller-coaster of emotions from a single episode of a TV show in ages. The acting was superb, the writing was spectacular. This will be an episode I will watch again and again. Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett had chemistry like no other. Kudos to them for making these characters so lovely. Only negative there is, is that I wanted more. I did not want their story to end. However the ending was beautiful. A true tragic love story. I would like if they had flashback scenes with them in it. I would love to see them again!
The Handmaid's Tale (2017)
Excellent.
This show has been consistently riveting and the acting has been superb. There are very few shows that can keep you constantly enthralled throughout its entirety. I find myself anxiously awaiting for the next episode. This show is definitely grim and can be too heavy for some. I find it fascinating though, and eerie how they show what religious fundamentalism could lead to if given total power and control. There are fanatics in our current administration here in the U.S. and this show doesn't seem like a far stretch to what they would do if they had total power to enforce their religious beliefs onto all citizens. Women are already losing rights over their own bodies by men in power inciting the bible for the reason to do so. We need to watch this show as a warning of what could happen if we continue to elect Christian zealots to office. This idea they speak of to "take back America" and "make America great again" should be alarming everyone because it's them wanting religious dominance over us. Watch, learn, and resist.
