Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Great Potential
Overall I enjoyed the movie a lot. I've no idea where all
the hate is coming from, is it Star Wars fans hating anything that's similar to it? Is it because of Synder? Oh well, the movie is great fun, I hope it becomes a nice franchise and I'm looking forward to the next one, hopefully there is one.
Kora's (main character) acting skills might be a bit dodgy at times but it's not too bad.
I've read some reviews complaining about the plot, well if it annoys you then I don't know what groundbreaking plot you were expecting. It's a nice sci-fi adventure action movie and it's not going to make you think too deeply, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Just sit back and enjoy a nice adventure.
The Blacklist: 16 Ounces (2021)
Keens character is terrible
Keens emotions/decisions/personality are so unrealistic and stupid it is painful to watch. Firstly keen has been painful to watch throughout many seasons, not just now. But this is the straw that broke the camels back. Katarina is a stranger, a neighbour, you wouldn't just immediately trust this person to look after your child... not with the history keen has and experiences she's faced. You wouldn't love this stranger Katarina after such a short time of knowing her and she hasn't done anything for you.. a mother is meaningless If you basically have no memories or experiences with her. She's a stranger. red has saved your life countless times.... spent several years with you, but you'll betray him easily... ridiculous. The secrets she is searching for aren't even hers... so childish and entitled, prepared to kill her grandad to get the truth, she shouldn't be so naive when considering every thing that has happened. Where is her character growth?! It's like she's still an immature mess. I have to wonder if the writers suffer short term memory loss and forget what's happened before. Plus they clearly have no grasp on realistic emotions. This show has always been about Raymond.. it literally just needs him interacting with the other characters (task force/enemies/comrades) and solving cases/doing crimes and balancing his emotions from savage assassin to soft and kind. It doesn't need keen at all anymore. If there was a way to kill her off I'd definitely be happy. It should be a ruthless killing like the first time with Kaplan but actually successful, then red protects Agnes and tries to do better this time hahaha now If the show expects me to be believe that useless agent keen can now outsmart lifelong master criminal and strategist Raymond Reddington then it's just a complete crackpot story plot. Raymond would outsmart and deal with keen in half an episode. She has shown no evolution considering what she just attempted in this episode.. I hope this absurdity doesn't continue for the whole season.
The Witcher (2019)
Great tv show, binge worthy!
Not much to say really, this tv show has everything it needs. Just watch it!
Captain Marvel (2019)
Good fun movie, not sure what the negative reviews are about!
Is it the best MCU film? No, but that would be hard to do. Maybe people have been spoilt with too many good MCU superhero movies. Go watch a superhero movie made by any other organisation, then compare it. You'll find that it's definitely a good movie, depending on what you regard as good. It's a superhero movie so don't expect a thriller obviously. It's entertaining, fun, humourous and you'll leave the cinema feeling happy, just what you should expect. She's got a great relationship with Fury and its great to see this side of him, it makes you wonder what happened to him in the time between this movie and later on. Yes her powers are great, but there's always a weakness, we've already seen a glimpse of how it can be suppressed so not sure why some people are using that as a reason to give a low review. To say she's overpowered before we've even seen her fight alongside Hulk/Thor or whoever you think is strongest is just nonsense, the MCU can easily balance out power levels. Now I'm also crazy excited for Avengers Endgame after the credits teaser! It's definitely worth a watch in the cinema.
