Wednesday (2022)
Had so much potential.. huge disapointment.
Started off brilliantly; polished with quirky humour but then became more & more cliche. Ultimately the detective element was entirely obvious. But then the story became completely lost & the plot was a mess that went from zero to one hundred with something that started in a mainly mortal world & then became Harry Potter on Steroids. The three main casts Jenna Ortega was brilliant, Catherine Zeta Jones again so., Luuis Guzman was a strong support but the support cast was so poor. Hollywood in a nutshell. Then Fred Armisen a fantastic actor was just not what was needed for. Uncle Fester at all.
Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror (2021)
Short sighted
Twisted and contrived narrative of events. No talking about dark truths and unawnsered questions.
Pig (2021)
Very pretencious and non sensical.
The plot line is just full of holes and just completely ruins the entire film. Just way to elaborate, nobody goes to this extent if this occured in your life, it woud be far more swift especially for someone not afraid of brutality as the film clearly shows.
Cruella (2021)
hacky let down.
Well shot and stylish looking, Emma Thompson is great as Cruella. But.the things carried out are too outlandish and unbelievable.a Music in every scene is completely unnecessary. Emma stones character just seems to be trying to hard and the accents or disguise makes no sense.
Revealed: The Hunt for Bin Laden (2021)
Delusional 'truth'
Besides the interesting hunt. There is no truth here. The motives and true orchestrators of 9/11 certainly arent looked at.
Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell (2021)
Some slight propoganda
Lack of balance. But especially didnt like the glamorous light this posed of Pudd Daddy/ P diddy. The man known to be behind certain nefarious crimes and both suspects and witnesses have claimed was behind the murder of Tupac.
Fuck, That's Delicious (2016)
Absolute gold in every sense.. Its no coincidence he is continually compared to Anthony Bourdain
If you watch 'Vice' you should know what to expect regardless.
But for those prudes that stumble across it (you should be aware that not only is this from a new age & genre... Action ET Al are will do things some may consider outlandish & they will use profanity).
However Action is a multi talented individual who effortlessly brings joy to any stranger he comes into contact with. His understanding and respect for culture isnt a natural talent. But in the show he syncorinses with all walks of people,of all ages & creeds. whilst naturally having the most hilarious banter with his friends.
Step Brothers (2008)
Theres not much more you can say than INCREDIBELY underrated.
This rating is affected by weirdo boomers with no sense of awareness & comedy.
Both Will Ferrell & John C Reilley are excpetional in this.. but there are also brilliant performances from co starts. (This kind of comedy never wins awards but the level in range acting they show is superb)
Save Me (2018)
Largely underrated..This should be an 8.2. Lennie James is exceptional in this
He is just let down by some of his cast. Shame Stephen Graham plays such a small role.
Lennie James defines the word gritty in his role where he gives all aspects of emotion. He makes the show on his own.
Grizzly Man (2005)
The best unintentional comedy you could possibly imagine.
Not much you can say about this other than sheer mental issues. The best part of the film is the Helicopter pilots quote about the main character.
Big Time Adolescence (2019)
Simply 8/10's of this film were excellent.
However the ending is rapped up in an oppressive hateful way to Pete Davidsons character. (Completely out of touch & contradictory ending which was completely hateful towards a guy that puts himself on the line for a friend, instead of being a straight edge character like the likely sheltered writer/director expects).
Makes complete sense how they were able to gain Pete Davidson & Machine Gun Kelly as cast members, as they are both newcomers to hollywood with short resumes & susceptible to sell their soul for a paycheck. Both were great but sold out completely to a wishy washy narrative.
24 Hours in Police Custody (2014)
Massively underrated, this programme is captivating.
Seriously well put together and makes a mockery of your typical policing programmes.
Guns Akimbo (2019)
Completely cringe throughout
Attempts at comedy are feeble tries at being relatable and the action sequences are awkward and stupid like a 4 year olds with adhd's trying to paint.
Curb Your Enthusiasm: Artificial Fruit (2020)
Silly is an understatement. Terrible episode written by someone different of course.
Undermines all of the work that has gone in the previous 9 seasons. Silly really doesnt do justice to how poorly written it is to the point its farcical. Its a comedy but this episode takes any element of story or respect from existence with its slap stick cringe.
Curb Your Enthusiasm: Happy New Year (2020)
Absolutely incredible.. the word genius is appropriate when it comes to Larry David
This episode is a work of art in every aspect. There is no analysis necessary. Leonardo da Vinci's painting Salvator Mundi sold for $450 million dollars. But this is a priceless work of art you can view for nothing.
Gomorrah (2014)
Simply ...... sensational.
Marco D'Amore is incredible as Ciro... pure class. The series is gritty & clever you couldnt want much more. Mesmerizing.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Hard for Disney to do wrong.. the film sells by nostalgia alone.. HOWEVER
The cringe factor is strong, Its simply a disney formula written & approved by people with no knowledge or care for the original.
You could simplify how silly it all is like this:
Finn gets of the ship, bumps into Rey, they then bump into the Millenium Falcon & then bump into Hans Solo & chewbacca.
Léon (1994)
Simply, Natalie Portman is incredible. 12 years old, how she didnt win the oscar is astounding & likely corrupt.
Enough said ...... ..... ..... .... ..... .... ..... .....
Sneaky Pete (2015)
Grossly underrated, the 3rd season isoff piste
I feel the 4th season has only been because of budget & viewership.
The first 2 seasons are simply clever, gritty and with a real heart walming character to the main cast/family. It takes twists and has scenes of undervalued levels of acting.
Brilliantly produced by Bryan Cranston.
The Accident (2019)
Not just awful but massively insencitive.
Was originally based on the back of Grenfell... That is all that needs & should be said.
David Brent: Life on the Road (2016)
Somewhat Undderated
This film encapsulates a sole character... who you can't make up. The plot of the film comess second to the character.
But what most people who reviewed this don't appreciate or understand is the original character from 'the office' & his journey & how its tied up quite magically.
The Other Guys (2010)
* One of the most undrrated comedies in decades.. This is a Will Ferrell Masterclass
Undenialbely some of it is silly humour, but Will Ferrell out-does himself playing a nerdy but professional, unwitting police officer.
The irony of his role is well place and not overdone. Supposedly a serious cop but with an unreletting sense of aparent ignorance. His wife is played by an incredible actress in Eva Mendes, but Will is impecable in his role of playing her down even though she is not only incredibely gorgeous but playing the epitome of the perfect wife.
Mark wahlberg excels as Ferrel's police partner who is dumfounded by his partners lack of awarness, whilst trying to stear him in the direction of the goals they seek to achieve, whilst amusingly flirting with Ferrel's characters wife.
