Blind Horizon (2003)
a man looses his memory and then drinks lots of tequila
Trust me, if I wake up in a hospital, having amnesia as a result from a bullet to the head and I have a vague recollection it's got something to do with killing the president. I'ld be out of that little town fast, real fast.
No, not in this movie, our hero spends the next hour or so (of the movie!!!) in the local pub drinking beer and tequilas and smoking one cigarette after the other. Trust me, I speak out of experience, that's the way to loose your memory, not to regain it.
There might have been more to it but I didn't get it. I don't think you will either...
Head of State (2003)
not even a smile
The man directed it and plays the main character. If someone has two jobs he usually isn't good in either. And this sure is true for Chris Rock... The music was lousy, the jokes were boring, the characters were wooden, the meat was rotten,
and even the super who wasn't that super
I can't think of one reason to watch this movie, the best use for the dvd is as a beermat.
Ginostra (2002)
a lamb, a vulcano, lots of crazy nuns
Sounds like fun. Well it isn't. Location is great, actors are good (Keitel and Andie MacDowell) but there is no story, no plotline, nothing. Lets start shooting, who needs a story. Well, let me tell you, this movie was in very dire need of a story. Any story would have done, half a story would have given me a semi-enjoyable evening. I give you with 1/10 the first real dud of 2004. Should have gone to the party instead. 1-1-2004 02:45
Claim (2002)
if you've been to Rotterdam you'll enjoy this movie.
good script, nice locations, one to watch!!! The English is not that fluent I admit, at least it's not dubbed. And I actually liked the latin lover. The latin lover: "ah, you don't like that latin lover stuff. Well neither do I"
Great
The Bank (2001)
people who can't calculate shouldn't talk about mathamatics!
The film starts with a schoolclass where a bank manager explains that if you would save $ 0.50 a week in 25 years you would have amassed $ 727.000.
This is so wrong, you'ld need to get 62.018 % interest to get there.
People like that shouldn't be talking about mandelbroth functions and fractals.
Spawn (1997)
A lot of devilish gun fighting going on here
Nor really a movie I recommend for television. All the more interesting scenes need a far bigger screen than the one at home ... The clown is quite nice if you like a lot of fartjokes which he produces as a green gas probably to make the jokes visually appealing.
The Fixer (1968)
Homo homini lupus (Man is for other men a wolf)
An interesting picture. The portrait of a friendly, non-political Jew captured and accused for ridiculous crimes he did not, and for religious reasons, could not commit. It leaves you with a feeling of anger because of the inhumanity of men towards men. Enjoy!
Ridicule (1996)
For English speakers the beauty is in the subtitles
It's not what you say, it's the way that you say it. I found the combination of the beauty of the spoken word together with the start of science as we now know it the strength of this movie. The semi-happy and obligatory ending was a disappointment.
Precious Find (1996)
No-go, don't see
As a devoted fan of Rutger Hauer I've seen some crappy productions. This, a remake of a western in a sci-fi setting, tops them all. Can anybody tell me why asteroids have an atmosphere and why you would use a pick-ax when you go there by spaceship?
