Obviously Ethan is not the brilliant Coen brother
13 April 2024
I have loved nearly every Coen brothers films ever made, and my favorite No Country for Old Men is in my top 5 EVER. I just can't believe how bad this film is. I thought Margaret Qualley was fantastic in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I thought she had a really big career ahead of her. She has had some more good performances, and then this. I am not sure what she was trying to achieve here, but she failed miserably. That fake Texas drawl was appallingly bad. I realize Matt Damon, and Pedro Pasqal were just in short, quick roles, but why would they waste their time. I guess maybe a favor to Ethan ,!

I am so confused about what Ethan Coen was trying for here. Sarcastic- fail. .. Dark- fail... Ironic-fail...cheesy-fail Certainly not very funny either.

Watched every Easter-now 2024
31 March 2024
I watched first time at a special premiere for my church. We got to see it before anyone else since we saw it two days before it premiered nationwide.. To watch the reactions of my fellow church members was amazing. Many sat in stun silence, while others just bawled openly.

Now, all these years later, I can say this film is still probably the most powerful, and brutally honest film that I have ever seen. If you are a Christian as I am, this film shows everything that we ever need to see about Jesus's last 12 hours, but even if you are an atheist, this film is just plain powerful in the way it was made, and created.

Mel Gibson did as a Director in this film something I doubt that the great Martin Scorsese or Francis Ford Coppola, or Quentin Tarantino could never do.

From the cast, to the direction, to the sets, to the costumes, I believe this is al near perfect a film as you will ever see.

Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
How to make 3 hour film about A bomb interesting??
12 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Easy! Have Christopher Nolan direct it. I finally watched it one day after it won best picture at the Oscars.

It is a long film, so I was a little nervous, when it started slowly. I should have realized most great films start that way setting up the characters, and the story. The film built into a very exciting drama as they became closer, and closer to creating the A bomb. The cast blew me away. There so many great actors in this film, you may never know of unless you actually see it.

Some examples James Remar, Casey Affleck, Kenneth Branagh, Rami Malek.

I was absolutely memorized when the film got to the senate hearings. It was scary what they tried to do to such a brilliant scientist, and American patriot.

Film was long, but I got lost in the film, and the 3 hours flew by.

Shocked how good this film was
7 March 2024
The film came out in 2020 during the peak of the metoo movement. I certainly think women are to believed, but I also believe men have a right to defend themselves against lack of evidence events. Reading what the film was about I was sure I would hate this film. I was very surprised how much i enjoyed this film. I consider it a mystery, at first you were not sure what Cassie's motive was, and why she was doing what she was doing. Little by little you discovered she had an agenda, and for good reason. I loved her continued chase for revenge, and justice.

The end was surprising, and brilliant.

Saw this film in 2020, and recently rewatched on USA on demand. I liked it more on rewatch

8-10.
