Well I thought that it seemed a strong cast but oh dear, oh dear! What induced Kevin McKidd and James Cosmo to take part in this mish mash? The plot is so convoluted that I don't think the cast even understood it. The sub plot of Kevin's missing daughter was utterly irrelevant and completely misleading. Then there was the dishonest senior cop. Or was he? Then another local copper turned up with an axe to grind. With me so far because I'm not! It just seems to be a rewrite of. Then it was all about Scottish independence and how the terrible English government security services were interfering. Of course there were 2 characters who may or may not have been something important. To me, it's just a very poor rewrite of "Scotch on the Rocks".

I was so looking forward to this show. It had to be better than the Discovery which was just unbelievable. (Don't mention those Klingons!) Unfortunately, it isn't. I've not watched season 2 and probably won't as, so, far, there's not been one episode that has not been lifted, or adapted, from the original series. It must be the laziest script writing I have ever come across. The worst one was the desperate rewrite of the film "Alien" but using the Gorn as the protagonists. How on earth are we supposed to believe that the Gorn are a space faring race if that is all they can do. I'm a huge fan of Trek but this needs putting out of its misery.

Quite possibly the worst Thor film I have ever watched. How can all these really good actors put up with such a terrible script? I sat through it because I had paid my money to see it but, really, I think I would rather have stuck pins in my eyes! Marvel Studios has seriously lost their way. I would add more to this review but the film is sooooooooooooooooooooo bad, I cannot think of even one thing that might make you want to watch it. Don't even bother downloading it, it's a waste of your internet bandwidth. The only highlight for me was Natalie Portman who did manage to make her part believable but, as for the rest, it was high much money can I earn!!

Firstly, I adore this programme normally! But this episode didn't work. The much heralded return of Dwayne was a damp squib with the actor patently taking the money and reciting the lines and looking completely out of place. Even his hat didn't actually fit him! The new lad is similarly terrible. The, will they, won't they, between the two main characters is being padded out to keep the viewers interested but it could end up backfiring. Overall, this was a shockingly poor episode and, as others have said, a poor script, appalling acting from some of the cast and continuity gaffs galore.

If that many white actors had been cast in coloured character roles, there would be an enormous outcry. But the other way round seems to be ok in the modern "woke" age. Major characters have changed race or colour with no reference to the characters in the book. Otherwise it's a gentle, untaxing watch.

First of all, I'm a huge fan of Nicola Walker but what induced her to star in this? She is brilliant as ever though while the talking to "camera" worked on Radio 4 as a means of explanation, it feels totally wrong and out of place on the telly. Also, in my opinion, the supporting cast are not up to her standard giving the program an air of amateur dramatics with actors going through the motions and accepting the cheque at the end. Bitterly disappointed!

This is absolutely worth your time to watch from start to finish but just be prepared for a very poor ending to the final series. The writers had no idea how to finish it and I was left feeling frustrated by it. Obviously an attempt to get a series 8. However, the cast, locations and general storyline are all superb.
