Amazing discoveries...
28 September 2000
The information displayed in this documentary is mind blowing and truly awe inspiring. I believe all who see this film will want to think hard about their beliefs, and consider their relationship with Jehovah! Lovers of truth should watch this documentary!

The peak of 80's propaganda...
14 September 2000
This film is decent enough to check out on a saturday afternoon, but don't expect to see a high caliber drama. Red Dawn is simply an eighties 'fear the Russians' flick about invading communists and young people trying to survive it all. Very thin plot... okay acting!

Truly original and forgotten classic...
17 July 2000
'Light Years' is a work of sci-fi animation that really stands apart from the pack. In order to enjoy this film, one must have an appreciation of science fiction altogether. For those individuals such as Leonard Maltin, whom dismissed this movie as a pretentious 'talky' cartoon, you must understand that 'Light Years' tells a very human story about irresponsible inventions and ignorance in a completely ALIEN setting; this is the true magic of the film! I thought the dialogue was creative and the story was fascinating. The creatures and characters are beyond description, and the ending will blow you away. True sci-fi fans I think should dismiss Leonard Maltin's review and rent this one!

A real downer...
10 July 2000
I wasn't sure whether this movie was based on a true story, or loosely related to real life events until I got to the theater. Despite being a decent film, I couldn't help the feeling of being duped as I watched the disappointing finale unfold. The acting was good, and the visual effects were first rate. Overall the story was very moving, however, like all true stories, things never turn out the way you would like them to. I suggest this film only for people who enjoy pure realism. If your looking for a fun filled adventure movie like I was, don't see it!

A wonderful tale...

This movie has everything going for it. Besides the stirring musical score and fascinating characters, the story has a truly remarkable magic to it that I can't explain. If you haven't seen 'The Dark Crystal', add it to your rental cart. You're family will love it!

A wonderful adventure...
30 June 2000
Children everywhere would love to head for the stars, and they certainly do in 'Flight of the Navigator', a fantastic tale of a lost boy who reappears eight years later under amazing circumstances. Full of fun and adventure, 'Flight of the Navigator' takes you on a touching journey. This film is truly one of my favorites, and I'm sure the whole family will love to rent this one!

Good, but not great...
29 June 2000
When I went to see Phantom Menace I expected to be blown away, and I was, but only by the special effects! The dialogue and dramatic scenes were disappointing, as well as the neglect of the Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi characters. The film never developed Obi-Wan the way it should have, and I would rather have seen more Darth Maul than Jar-Jar! As far as child actors go, I've seen much better actors than Jake Lloyd. Weak dialogue didn't help Jake much either. Despite these bad points, Phantom Menace makes up for it with some great action and battle sequences. The pod race had me jumping up and down in the theater, and I was on the edge of my seat during the light saber fight.

The story over all wasn't bad, it just wasn't the greatest either. I think alot of people, including myself, expected too much from this film. If you haven't seen it, do so. You will love this movie. It's great for the whole family! However, don't expect to have a life changing experience, like so many did.

Explosions, One-liners, Big Guns! What more to ask for?

I love this brainless fun, and I'm not afraid to say it! There isn't any award winning acting or thought provoking plot lines, but so what! If you want to see some vintage Arnie, get this one. You won't regret it!

Still great after nearly twenty years...

If you want to see compelling fantasy with one ferocious dragon, you've chosen the right movie. Fans of dungeons and dragons should especially enjoy the fantastic fight sequences and gripping drama surrounding the young apprentice Galen/Gaylon, a wizard in training. The visual effects will not disappoint and neither will the story. This is a must see for fantasy buffs!

Another poor excuse for high budget trash...
28 June 2000
When watching a movie like this, one might ask: Are movie companies really this short on good film makers and stories? It appears to me that the film industry is more concerned with flashy effects rather than solid, thought provoking plot lines. Digital effects and terrific stunts should highlight a story, not be the story. 'Starship Troopers' is just another visual showcase without any substance. If you like alot of great digital glitz, see this movie. If your looking for dynamic sci-fi story telling, this is not your movie. Don't get your hopes up!

Why film makers need to do their homework...
28 June 2000
Despite this movies great visual effects and all-star cast, 'Independence Day' proves to be the pinnacle in 'suspension of disbelief.'This film was loaded with geographical, statistical and common sense errors the likes of which has not been seen since the discovery of a round Earth. I'm sorry Roland, the empire states building doesn't sit in the middle of Madison Avenue! I also can't say enough about the cartoonish characters that plague this wreck of a movie. You can almost set your watch to time the silly 'one-liners' saturated within every scene. 'Independence Day' isn't so bad for a saturday night rental, for those who love large explosions and cool fight sequences, but for the serious sci-fi watcher, it doesn't enrich you as a viewer!

Mediocre movie based on a great book...
28 June 2000
As horror movies go, I've seen worst, but given the fact that this movie is based on Dean R. Koontz,s terrific novel, the film comes off as a very sad attempt. If 'Watchers' was an original concept for a film, I might have enjoyed the movie a bit more. Unfortunately, it's hard to enjoy an average movie after reading a great book. Still in all, Watchers isn't so bad for a friday night thrill with some popcorn and friends!

One fun film...
28 June 2000
This is truly a movie to bring home. 'The Last Star Fighter' was made during the birth of digital effects, and this movie still has the magic to make young children look to the stars. Some scenes might scare kids, but overall the family will love to watch this movie over and over again!
