(A COUPLE OF SPOILERS AHEAD!)
I didn't hate Me, Myself & Irene, but I thought a lot of the toilet humor, which the Farrelly's usually exploit marvelously, wasn't very well thought out this time (Carrey: "But you said you would eat blubber" - Midget: "She'll be eating blubber when I show her my Moby Dick.") Not very clever. Almost an easy way out. I also resented the fact that I knew about the chicken up the ass before I saw the film. That could have been very funny, but movie reviewers, magazines, fans, and even the Farrellys couldn't keep that a secret. I knew it was coming, and so it had no shock value at all.
I thought the best part of the film was Carrey's physical comedy...especially when Hank and Charlie are fighting. That was maybe the most impressive bit of physical comedy in his career as he helped himself into the car. I also believed that his sons, who were M Fing everything were funny, not because they were black and had foul mouths, but because they were smart with foul mouths. "Damn...what the f*** is the muthaf**kin' atomic mass of this element?" "Muthaf**ka...Fermi would be spinning in his grave!" Good stuff there.
Anyway, it's definitely worth a video rent in the next few months, but make sure you pick up Kingpin too and enjoy those huge, flopping comb-overs!!!
