Joey (2004–2006)
Not Gonna Fly
9 September 2004
I have been a Friends fan from the first season, Joey always being one of my favorite characters. Watching the premiere episode, my hopes were dashed as the humor was just not there. They are trying to bring in viewers with the big name, Matt LeBlanc and the sister (who was originally an olive skinned brunette and I think if Joey had a sister who had a kid at 14, they would have mentioned it before) who is a tall lanky "blonde" with huge boobs... which they definitely played up less than 5 minutes after the show had begun. Spinoffs do not work, except for that rare occasion - I do not think that this will be one of them... sorry NBC. You lost a good one with Friends, but don't think Joey will replace it unless you pump up the funny. You'd better stick to Will and Grace...

I love the son - he was hilarious in Josie and the Pussycats. Overall, Joey was not a bad show. I expect that many viewers will be like myself in thinking that if they watch this, they will get a taste of the Friends they once knew. As they said in this show "change is not always good..."

The Truth About Jane (2000 TV Movie)
Close to Home
23 June 2002
I recently taped this movie off of Lifetime and as I was watching it, I was amazed at home closely Jane's home and personal experiences reminded me of my own coming out. As I was watching the video, the story was so powerful and personal that I had to turn it off at times to take a moment. The acting in the movie was great. Stockard Channing, as always, proved to be a stunning actress with a stellar performance. The young actress who played Jane, Ellen Muth, proved herself with a hard emotionally demanding dramatic performance. I hope to see more from her in the future. Kelly Rowan, who played the teacher was beautiful as always. Her performance was great, but I agree with with other users that her character was always appearing on the scene at "the right time" a little too much. Overall, I thought the movie was great. A must see for friends and family of all homosexuals. Everyone for that matter. A wonderful Coming Out movie!
