Ravenous (1999)
FAMINE or FEAST!
I love this movie. This is sure to become a cult movie in many years. It was a very bizarre theme (cannibalism) but it was exciting. The music was very cool. Especially when Reich and Boyd are hunting Colqhoun. The music was MEANT to be annoying at times. I have the DVD and the soundtrack. I liked the cave scene alot. The ending was very good.
This movie is not for sensitive people. Watch this movie! -9.5/10
Revenge of the Ninja (1983)
ha ha!
well today i rented this movie and watched it with my friend. but we didn't rent it to be excited...we rented it to laugh at! it is so retarded! like he says, "look, superman!" and the bad guy says, "where??" and the kid then kicks him...sigh! The fighting was extremely pathetic. I doubt that you can jump 20 yards downwards and still stand on your feet! the acting and story was so laughable... i laughed so much through this movie. A ninja star can't penetrate a skull that easily. The weapons were mostly retarded and the 80's music....sucked!! This movie is probably the worst movie i have ever seen...it is not boring though, it keeps you laughing! This movie was very dumb. On almost EVERY fighting with weapons move i could find a mistake or goof. I hate this movie, it is very poor and pathetic. Rent this to laugh at!
The Patriot (2000)
It is not the best or worst
What exactly is "The Patriot"? It's about Benjamin Martin and his love for his family, but it evolves into something much more than that. (Possible spoilers)-The movie could have been a lot shorter in a sense, but if you look at each individual scene, then it shouldn't have been shorter. This movie started out great, absolutely great. You had a great impression of his family. This movie, on some points, focuses a lot on his family. The villain was developed in a good way, although some of the "crimes" he committed were not very historically accurate. The Red Coats were made too villanous. I do not know why, but i went in for a Gladiator/Braveheart movie but this is not one. If you want more historically accurate information go see my favorite movie Gladiator. If you want drama in a more classical sense, rent or buy Braveheart. This movie is worth seeing, but it was, naturally, TOO AMERICAN. (spoiler?) The final battle scene is beautiful except for the man on man one.
Gladiator (2000)
The Glory of all Movies
You already probably know the plot so that i will not tell you of. But this is the best movie of all time. From the campaign in Germania fighting the Ostrogoths and Jutes to....well, you have to find that out! The movie has an all star cast; Russel Crowe from The Insider, Joaqin Phoenix from 8mm, Connie Nielsen from the Devils Advocate, Oliver Reed from A LOT of movies, Djimon Honsou from Deep Rising and Amistad, Chick Allen as a German Chieftain with a severed head and a huge ax. The fighting in this movie is so excessive and well-done, I've never seen anything like it before. The story is not a slacker, it really has plot (a good one i might add). The recreation of Rome was very accurate and the costumes were awesome. I know maybe they usually didn't wear as much but I happen to know that Gladiatorial fights differed from time to time. The only mistake i found was the repeating crossbow, which wasn't invented until 7th Century by the Chinese. But oh well... it still looks awesome. The soundtrack is compelling done by Hanz Zimmer from the Rock and Lisa Gerrard from...? It's a wonderful soundtrack. The Gladia they used in the movie were well-made and the chariots were magnificent with an added blade coming out from the wheel. Buy the soundtrack. This movie doesn't have as much gore as it could have which is a plus since gore has been taking over Hollywood. I've seen this 3 times and I love it more EVERY SINGLE time i watch it. This is my favorite movie of all time, it beats braveheart by 0.5 of a point. I love this movie. It's magnificent. I recommend this to all people, even those who don't like too much gore. This movie doesn't have it. It's a magnificent movie (I'm 13 years old... and I'm a history lover so...)
House on Haunted Hill (1999)
PWT-possb. spoilers ahead-don't watch movie, so read it!
PWT! Poor White Trash! the must ridiculous movie i have ever watched. It was so unbelievably pathetic, inadequate, and so lame! the story line was stupid, the characters were DUFF! Geoffrey Rush did not to well. The ONLY thing i liked in this movie was his quote: "So much for a Ph.D in engineering!" but that could not save such horribly boring ridiculous stupid lame material. And how did the patients come out of their "cells" to attack Vaancut or whatever his name is. And how did they manage to stab 3 (three) 18.9 mm long pencils THROUGH his neck in ONE drive? And then again, the pencils aren't long enough to get all the way through still being able to have a grip on it! By the way, how come there were tv monitors everywehere? Nothing had been changed in it! Why didn't they use the guns? Why didn't they stick together? Don't watch! Bad stuff for kids! (I'm one..) 13 years old. I love Kubrick and Spielberg!
The Haunting (1999)
There is no escape of the Haunting!
I thought this movie was very awkward; but it's my kind of movie! the special effects were unbeatable. I liked Theo in it. She looked pretty good! First, Eleanor appeared as a dimwit to me, but then she become pretty cool. Liam Neeson was pretty cool too. I liked how he laughed when they were eating dinner. I do not know when and what guy that Hugh Cran could have built such a castle without people constantly looking at it. Jerry Goldsmith's music was also a plus. Even if you don't like the idea of ghosts, it's worth watching just for Catherine Zeta-Jones. 8*/10*
The Last of the Mohicans (1992)
watch it!
I loved this movie, i've got the movie and the soundtrack, i can't find the DVD!!!! This was great music and beautiful cinematography. I liked the fighting sequences, especially the last one. Wes Studi was a good actor. 8/10
