I taped this by mistake on HBO, thinking it was the old 40's version. What a pleasant surprise when I watched the tape. This has to be one of the best re-makes I've ever seen. I can't believe I'd never heard of this before and I'm also surprised that most movie watchers I know have never seen or heard of this. Great cast, great story, etc. WHEN IS THE DVD's RELEASE DATE!!!

WHY IS THIS NOT ON DVD! I luved this movie. I saw it by accident on cable and fell in love with it. It has everything; great dialog, story, action, etc. The acting is great. I mean, everbody is great. What a re-make. Watch the original (that was Richard Widmarks first film, I think), then watch this version. I PROMISE, you WILL be impressed.

I haven't seen this movie since it originally came out, but I have never forgotten it. I fully recommend all ages to watch it. The writing is great. Very original. To this day I have not seen ANY movie that can be compared to it.
