Carry on at Your Convenience (1971)
Can`t stop watching this
This is my favourite film of the Carry On series of movies. I lost count after i had watched it 50 times, it has all the Carry on humour and all in the right places.Sid James is Excellent as the bawdy works foreman, and Kenneth Cope as the Union representative is a pleasure to behold. Even without the busty talents of Barbara Windsor, this movie has plenty to titilate any fan of good tongue in cheek humour.
The Club (1980)
You don`t need to like aussie rules but it helps.
A very good if not wholly accurate film about aussie rules football. The characters are in most cases larger than life but are on the whole believable. The backstabbing and wrangling is as you imagine it to be and the dislike of the board by the players is tangible. You will laugh and cry at the antics of the Magpie`s. Watch it, you won`t regret it.
A Boy, a Girl and a Bike (1949)
Local stuff
This film is a very good representation of a northern England mill town of post WW2. The characters although credible are not typical of the peoples found in the area at the time. This movie was filmed in and around my local town and as a historical aid it is valuable though not wholly reliable.
