Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 (2012 Video)

Not quite there

The Dark Knight returns is the best comic story ever. It was hyped beyond belief but still exceeded expectations. So for this film to fall short of the book is no insult.

But it does fall short. The film makes the decision to remove the narration of Brice and Batman an element that made the comic brilliant. Not only did Miller in many ways recreate or invent the brutal Batman of the 40s that had been washed away in the camp of the 60s, he told the story in Batman's voice.

The animation is a bit sloppy but it does a fine job of recreated the darkness of Miller's art. A good but not great version of a classic.

Brave (2012)

Meh, same old foolish guys and awesome girls

Once you get past the accents and the stunning scenery there is not much of a story.

I can't believe the "female heroine" still gets buzz as original. When was the last time a kids show had a male hero that wasn't in some way arrogant needing to be knocked down a notch (Tangled, Cars,Buzz Lightyear etc)or a weak anti-hero that realizes he needs help (Woody, Nemo's Dad, etc.

Make a movie with a classic male hero and that would be mold breaking. If movie makers stop treating female audiences as if they are so fragile they could not stand a guy with confidence or deserving confidence, that would be original.

The cliché is that the female characters are always perfect except just a bit too spunky.

This is awful! I was so disappointed and I was expecting a terrible movie. Martin Lawrence is always bad Will Smith is not a tough guy, and has made only one good film, Six Degrees

Chasing Dreams (1989)

So bad it's funny

This is the worst movie ever. The star's mother is a producer I think and it looks like his summer job was to make this film when he was about 21. As bad as they get. It is so funny it has great dialogue like "Thanks for the beer!" Trust me it is a must see you'll laugh at every aspect of it.

Armageddon (1998)

Worst Movie of the 90's

I never really believed in the Armageddon, the end of the world until I saw the box office returns from this horrible film. Then I worried bad taste and dim-wittedness would undo us. This script makes the last "USA saves the World" cinematic insult to the rest of the world (Judgment Day) look like Shakespeare. Don't watch it! Each viewing takes 10 points off your I.Q. score.
