The Thief Who Came to Dinner (1973)
Dated but a really good movie.
I saw this movie just last night on the late show (Feb.,00). O'neal did a great job. I never really thought of him as a physical actor, but he did a stellar job. The plot is good and I think it is the earliest performance by Austin Pendelton. I know, it's the earliest for me. I recommend this movie for everyone. Just good clean entertainment.
Jaws (1975)
Crazy about this movie for 25 years!
I still remember standing in line with my brother's waiting to see this movie. I was pretty nervous and really was dared, by my brother's, to see the movie. As I watched the people exiting the theater, I knew I had made a serious mistake. I just do not like to be scared. One of my brother's decided to buy a large tub of popcorn to pass around between us during the movie. Well when the music started, the popcorn began being passed. As the music increased the popcorn picked up speed. Just at the moment the shark gets the girl, my youngest brother is throwing popcorn at his mouth completely missing his mouth and hitting the people behind him. We were all laughing and he never realized until the guy behind him asked him to stop. So, if I live to be 100, I will always remember this movie. No before or since have I seen a movie, that scared me or entertained me more.
The Steve Allen Comedy Hour (1967)
Early late night TV
The premier late night TV show. Nothing was off limits considering the years the program aired. Steve Allen was way ahead of his time. Started many careers, and sat the standard for future late night TV. His Man on the Street bit was hysterical and the viewer never new what was next.
Mr. and Mrs. Bo Jo Jones (1971)
Not the worst movie I've ever seen.
Remember most of these actors were just getting started. In 1971 the sexual revolution was just getting going. How else to deal with a tragedy in the making? The ending was a little boring. Not the worst movie I've ever seen.
