Fargo (1996)

One of the best movies of the year...

Fargo is one of the best movies of the 90's... It has a terrific cast, with wonderful performances. Frances McDormand won Best Actress, and it was well-deserved. This is one of those movies I don't get sick of after watching it a couple of times, this movie was so funny.

If you haven't yet seen Fargo, then you should go out and rent it tonight. You wont regret it, this is a great movie. I gave this movie a deserving 10.

Dressed to Kill (1980)

Vertigo meets Psycho meets the 80s

I just watched this movie for the first time the other night on HBO, and I thought it was pretty good. It's pretty suspenseful, and I thought the performances were pretty good also, even though I'm not much of a Michael Caine fan. I think the only person that kind of was 'misplaced' was Nancy Allen. Other than her 'not so good' performance the film was.... alright.

Oh, and alright it was a LOT like Vertigo: especially the museum scene, and the beginning shower scene was REALLY misplaced and just another chance to see a naked woman.

I watched it with my friends, I must be dumb or something, but they all knew who the killer was, I didn't know until the middle where I figured "oh ok it MUST be -", but they all thought it was pretty phony and a waste because they were expecting a murder mystery and just got a murder without the mystery. And they also thought the "Carrie" ending was pretty retarded, it worked in Carrie, but not in this film. I'm not going to say what happened, but if you've seen Carrie then I think you get the picture.

All in all, it's not THAT bad of a film. If you have time than maybe you'd want to check it out on HBO. I think I gave this film a 6 or 7.

Carrie (1976)

Never gets old

I love this movie so much. This is one of the few movies i've seen that never gets old. Great performances by all the cast. Especially by Piper Laurie, and Sissy Spacek. Betty Buckley is wonderful as always, and it's funny to see a young John Travolta in the mix.

Even though this film isn't scary, it's actually kind of sad, it still remains to be one of my favorite horror films. If you haven't seen this, then you should go out and rent it. It's a great film, with great actors, and one of the few movies that measure up to the books by Stephen King.

Stigmata (1999)

slow at parts, but it still kept me watching

This movie was actually pretty good. It was kind of slow, and I think most of the people in the movies with me wanted just to see Patricia Arquette get possessed, well...they did, but they also got a pretty good story with it.

Gabriel Byrne was good in it, and so was Arquette. The movie was kind of slow at parts, but it still kept me watching and being interested. The ending was pretty cool, and it had a good story to it also that I think a lot of people would be interested in. I think I gave this film a 6 or 7.

The Astronaut's Wife (1999)

Could've been better

I was hoping this movie was going to be good, but it wasn't. I think it could've been way better. It was kind of slow, but it kept me watching, and at the end is where I REALLY felt that the movie was "retarded". I'm not going to give anything away, but it's just like the average ending these days.

Charlize Theron was pretty good in it though. If it wasn't so slow and kind of lost my interest through it, and if the ending was better, I think this movie could've been actually good. But since it's not, I think I gave it a 5.

Mickey Blue Eyes (1999)

An enjoyable movie that's cute

I wasn't expecting much from Mickey Blue Eyes, being that i'm not, nor was I ever, much of a fan of Hugh Grant. But i've always liked James Caan, and Jeanne Tripplehorn is nice to watch to.

This was a nice movie to watch, and Hugh Grant is actually enjoyable. James Caan was, of course, good....and Tripplehorn was, of course, nice to watch. The ending was very adorable, and i'm glad to see a nice movie with a good ending that made me feel good after I left the movies. If that's how you like to feel when you leave a movie, watch this, even if you don't like Hugh Grant.

Chairman of the Board (1997)

It has it's funny moments, but not many

Before I sat down and watched this film on HBO, I wasn't expecting nothing but a few laughs here and there and all together a stupid and common plot. Well, that's exactly what I got out of it, except that I was somewhat satisfied at the end of the movie. I wasn't expecting it to be, I thought it was just going to be another hour and a half that I had on my hands to waste. Well, it was, but still it was somewhat worth it. The whole plot was very stupid, cheap acting, and some of the lines were very very dumb. Otherwise than that, it still had it's funny moments, even though not many.

All in all, if you're going to rent this, don't. Watch it on television. I gave it a 4, I was generous because it made me laugh, but yet it was still pretty stupid.

My Boyfriend's Back (1993)

lame, but somewhat funny

This movie was pretty lame, but yet it still kept me watching through the end. It was so cheesy that I laughed. It's definitely not worth renting, but if it comes on television, it might be worth watching if you've got time to spare.

So all in all, My Boyfriend's Back was pretty stupid and cheesy, but worth a watch on television because it might make you laugh at some parts. It kept me watching through the end. I think I gave this film a 5.

Spy Hard (1996)

funny but not his best

This movie is pretty funny, it's not Leslie Nielsen's best though. Some parts of this movie are just plain dumb, but that's the point. It's actually a pretty funny movie that I enjoyed watching and will maybe enjoy again.

Charles Durning and Barry Bostwick are funny together. Marcia Gay Harden is funny too. And of course, Leslie Nielsen, he's funny in this film but not funnier than some of his other films.

If you like this kind of comedy, and Leslie Nielsen then you'd like this. But if you're looking for a funnier film with Nielsen, than rent another one like dracula or any of the naked gun movies, airplane is always good too.

Sunset Boulevard (1950)

one of the best

I love this movie so much, this is one of the best films that i've seen. I loved the story, the acting and the actors, etc.

Gloria Swanson was wonderful as the aging actress Norma Desmond and William Holden is good as usual. If you like classic films and haven't seen this, why not? You should go out and rent this film, it's really good and I very much enjoyed watching this and I will the next time I watch it.

Born on the Fourth of July (1989)

One of Stone's best pictures

Tom Cruise was terrific in this film. Born on the Fourth of July was a pretty good movie, and very moving. Terrific performances by all the cast. Of course, especially by Cruise.

This must be one of Oliver Stone's best pictures. I enjoyed watching this film, and I will enjoy it even more the next time I watch it. If you haven't yet to see this film, you should go rent it because it's a very good film with good performances.

Beaches (1988)

One of the saddest movies i've seen

Beaches has to be one of the saddest movies i've seen. It's a very touching movie about friendship. Very fine performances by Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey.

This movie is a cute little story, that I love watching. It's very enjoyable, but don't forget the tissues.

If you haven't yet seen this, you should. Especially if you like Bette Midler and her music. I loved Beaches. Watch it today if you feel like watching a cute and moving drama.

Strangers on a Train (1951)

One of my favorites of all time

This movie is one of my favorite films of all time, I think it's one of Hitchcock's best. I loved it. Granger and Walker are great. It's pretty suspenseful throughout the whole ride, especially the final scene. The final scene at the fair is one of the best i've seen, and surely one of the most enjoyable.

So basically I found this movie to be very enjoyable, and if you haven't yet seen it then you should rent it. It's one of my favorites.

Cruel Intentions (1999)

A pretty good movie that I enjoyed watching

This film was pretty good. I enjoyed watching it, of course Dangerous Liaisons is better, but this movie was enjoyable also. Nice performances by the cast, and an enjoyable movie to watch.

If you liked Dangerous Liaisons, you would probably like this, it's actually pretty good. If you don't like Witherspoon or Gellar, I think you would still like this film.

The Deep End of the Ocean (1999)

A nice touching movie

This film was pretty good. I liked it a lot. It was very sad from the beginning to the end. Very good performance by Michelle Pfieffer. Treat Williams is good as well.

This was a touching film that I enjoyed watching. If you're going to rent this film, don't forget your tissues. I do recommend this film if you haven't yet seen it.

Thelma & Louise (1991)

Terrific movie, one of the most touching films i've seen

I never get tired of watching Thelma & Louise, and I still cry each time I watch it. Very fine performances by all the cast, especially Sarandon and Davis. This is one of my favorite films, and one of the most touching films i've ever seen. It's a very good story that moved me. I loved it.

Movies like this about friendship always move me, but this has to top them. If you haven't seen this film, then you should rent it. It's a really good story, and movie with fine performances.

Rear Window (1954)

One of my favorite films

This has always been one of my favorite films, it has very fine performances by James Stewart and Grace Kelly. Rear Window delivers mystery and suspense, and will never lose its touch.

This has to be one of my favorite Hitchcock films, I love watching it each time I watch it. If you haven't yet seen this film, then you should because it's really good and one of the finest films i've seen.

Rope (1948)

Suspenseful

This film was very good. One of my favorites by Hitchcock. Fine performances, nice simple plot, and suspenseful. I always enjoy watching Alfred Hitchcock's Rope, it's good and entertaining. If you haven't yet seen this then you should watch this, it's very enjoyable. Rope's suspense never gets old.

Even though it's not as mysterious and suspenseful as most of Hitchcock's films, but like always i'm not comparing it to the others, I liked this film a lot.

Shakespeare in Love (1998)

Good movie that I enjoyed watching

I didn't get a chance to see this film on the big screen, but I rented it when it first came out on video. I'm very glad that this film won Best Picture, because it was a terrific film. But what I now don't agree on was that I don't think Gwyneth Paltrow should have won Best Actress, Cate Blanchett should have won, she was excellent. I'm not saying Paltrow wasn't, because she was very good, as was Joseph Fiennes.

Judi Dench was wonderful on her small screen time, and also was Rush and Affleck.

This was a very good story that I enjoyed watching, so if you haven't yet seen this, rent it on video.

The Wrong Man (1956)

Nice performances, somewhat good movie

This film was pretty good, I enjoyed watching it. Very fine performances by Henry Fonda and Vera Miles. It's somewhat suspenseful, but I think everyone knew what would happen at the end so some people lost interest in it half way through.

It's not Hitchcock's best, but i'm not comparing it to his other films. It was a nice decent film that I enjoyed watching.

Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998)

beautiful

I loved this movie quite a bit. Drew Barrymore was great, and as always was Anjelica Huston. She was perfect as her character. Dougray Scott was really good also.

It was a really good story that I enjoyed watching. It's sad, funny, and romantic. A beautiful movie, with a great cast. If you haven't seen this, you should rent it, but not everybody will like this movie.

Jawbreaker (1999)

Not that good

This movie wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. It has a good story to it, but it could've been better. The ending wasn't good, it had a couple of good parts, but not really. It was pretty slow, the acting wasn't that good, but then again what was I expecting?

All in all, don't rent this film, wait until it comes on HBO or something. It's like Heathers, but FAR from being as good. Heathers isn't annoying, it's entertaining. Jawbreaker was annoying, and not entertaining.

Bride of Chucky (1998)

somewhat enjoyable

I was expecting a horror film, but what I got was a comedy. yeah, it was pretty funny. Actually, kind of stupid.

Bad acting, terrible story, but yet...i enjoyed it somewhat because it made me laugh. It was better than part 3, no doubt about that. But I was never much of a fan of the Child's Play movies. If you are, you'd probably like this.

The Opposite of Sex (1998)

Not that bad, but not that good

The funniest thing about this film was Lisa Kudrow's character Lucia. She was hilarious I thought. If your a fan of Kudrow then this is a definite watch, but otherwise, you might not want to bother.

Don't get me wrong though, it's not all that bad. The other characters tend to get on your nerves after a while, and then you just don't really care about them enough to keep watching. But Lisa Kudrow's character is enough reason to keep watching.

Phantoms (1998)

Read the book

This movie wasn't as good as I was hoping it was going to be. The book was way better than this. The acting was pretty bad, it tried hard for the thrills but didn't really get there.

Most of the time I was checking my watch. So overall don't rent this film, watch it when it comes on television.
