Adaptation. (2002)
Funny, but the climax is just plain ridiculous
I must admit that the film is very funny. Cage's characterization is remarkable (the opening monologue voiceover and the "Deconstructionist" idea both had me laughing heartily). ####SPOILER### The problem with this film is that it spirals into stupidity. I am sorry but I can't picture Meryl Streep with a shotgun wanting to murder the Cage twins in the middle of a damn swamp. It goes from a goofy, Lets-spy-on-Susan-Orlean game to a serious bloodthristy manhunt! Come on, people, that is just plain ridiculous. As "gifted" a screenwriter as Kaufman is, he could have thought of something better instead of shifting the general mood around.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
I Feel Sorry For Kevin Smith. . .
Clerks was a breath of fresh air when it came out in '94. It had the funniest dialogue I'd seen in a film at that time. Mallrats wasn't as funny but it was still worth watching. Chasing Amy? Good film, smart and engaging. Dogma - the first sign that Kevin Smith was going on a downward spiral of mediocre crap flicks. One of many films I'd had high expectations about but left the theater hugely disappointed. Which brings me to this nonchalant, piece-of-cinematic-crap, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Mr. Smith, your dream has died. This movie is absolutely lame, from beginning to end (Although the first ten minutes are actually able to get MILD chuckles, and that's that). What happened to your originality, Kevin? Did it disappear into thin air? It must have (You put that jackass Will Ferrell in it, for Chrissake).
I have been robbed of ninety minutes of my life, and I blame you, Kevin Smith.
Saturday Night Live (1975)
It is horrible - you are horrible if you disagree
SNL is the lamest, worst show on television. I mean, it is so pathetic for a show such as this to depend on sex jokes 90% of the time just to get laughs. When will you people realize what humor REALLY is? Look at it: SNL's target audience now seems to be adolescent teens. How pathetic is that. Will Ferrell is the biggest dork. All the people on SNL are one giagantic collection of lame dorks. I just wish that SNL will get "funny" again, and it doesn't look like it'll be anytime soon. As of now I'll be waiting for a new season of Mr. Show:A SKETCH COMEDY SHOW THAT'S ACTUALLY FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blood Feast (1963)
"Have you ever had...an Egyptian FEAST!!!!!!"
Holy canoli! I decided to rent "Blood Feast" on a whim because I had heard that this movie was terrible, so terrible that one would wholly laugh their ass off. Let me begin by saying that this movie WAS hilarious! The funny thing is is that it wasn't meant to be a comedy. That's the ironic thing. I laughed at everything in this movie. The beginning scene where the woman gets her eye cut out is definitely the worst edit in motion picture history(if you've seen it you'll know what I'm talking about!) The actors - They didn't seem believable. Were they reading cue cards? The funniest actor award goes to the guy who played Tony, the victim on the beach (Were those Real tears that he was crying?) The music - that violin song is the funniest song. It's even funnier when you listen to it drunk or stoned. And those drum beats? Ahhh...soothing! However, I'll give it to HG Lewis for creating what is highly regarded as the "1st Gore Film." Can you imagine Faces of Death without gore? Or even Saving Private Ryan? All in all, it's a film for both horror fans and the types of people who want to laugh themselves to death for an hour straight!

A Clockwork Orange (1971)
MY ALLTIME FAVORITE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is my all-time favorite movie, folks, and why? Because it is just mesmerising to watch. Very hypnotic, and equally entertaining. It is one of few films that are actually perfect.
But the main reason is is that it made me want to be a filmmaker. I first saw it when I was 15 years old and it was like nothing I had ever seen. Well at least it helped me make a career desicion!
Billy Liar (1963)
Very Original Early Schlesinger Work
Billy Liar is basically an autobiographical film for anyone who loves to daydream and get away with mischief. I loved Courtenay's performance and the style of comedy in the film(Billy as a soldier fantasizing about killing the annoying people in his life)is funny and original
The Driller Killer (1979)
Great Early Ferrara Work
I don't understand why people think this is a nasty film. A film that I would really compare it to would be Taxi Driver, because Abel Ferrara's Reno character slowly goes insane and takes his aggression out on the ones that are making his life difficult. Go see it for yourself. It may not be all that great but Ferrara's direction is what attracted me to it.
The Brood (1979)
Incredibly Scary and Disturbing
I thought that the Evil Dead was the scariest movie I had seen until I decided to watch the Brood late one night. This is actually the first film to give me nightmares since horror films I saw WHEN I WAS A KID! Yeah the first part is kind of boring but it's great how the tension builds up as the film progresses. Some might think that murderous toddlers are funny to look at but it freaked me out completely. And the last 10 minutes of this film is stomach-churning. It makes Eraserhead look as harmless as Sesame Street. It was an okay film.
