Saving Private Ryan (1998)
A great start for Dreamworks, 5 Oscars & a super film.
A depiction of war seldom seen on film. Great F/X and audio mix/editing. I especially liked the scent where the sniper shoots the sniper. Lots of great models too.
Spielberg will direct better as in the past.
Postcards from the Edge (1990)
Another great story (funny) about the movies
One of my favorites, Streep & MacLaine make a great team as Mother/Daughter. My favorite scene is the ending with the band, cast and crew; It's hard to tell who is who, which makes it great.
The Stunt Man (1980)
A great picture about the Movie "biz", watch closely.
This movie within a movie is really well done, you have to watch closely. O'Toole is great playing the 'mad' Director, keeps you guessing all the way through.
American Graffiti (1973)
A great story about teenage life (before protests) in 60s.
George Lucas does a super job with this "coming of age" film set in rural California, circa l962. Lots of great cars/ Hot Rods and a great drag race. Music of the era too.
Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993)
A great western (1863) show with contemporary themes.
This was a great series, too bad it was canceled. It was "Little House" of the 90s.
Don't miss Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, the Movie.
Contact (1997)
This was a great picture, great work by all.
Foster does a great job playing a scientist that travels into another part of the universe. The other actors are great too.
Great F/X and computer generated scenes as well.
Super direction by Robert Zemeckis.
I especially liked the scene where the "young Eli" races up the stairs to get the medicine. Shot in three parts it really works well.
Let's see a sequel!!
Night of the Comet (1984)
This was a great picture, very well done.
A good story about the "end of the world" as seen in through the eyes of 80s teenagers. A great script acted out by newcomers in the acting profession that do a tremendous job. Just enough F/X and stunts to make it all work perfect.
I especially like the scene at the radio station, where the girl states that "finals are canceled and the drinking age is eight."
