The Matrix (1999)
One of the Best Sci-Fi movies ever
I'm normally not a big sci-fi fan. In fact, I just went to see this for the special effects. But the plot was so well-constructed, I couldn't really think of any major holes anywhere in the movie. And the effects were everything I'd hope they would be and more. They didn't go overboard, it was an even balance of clever writing and incredible film-making.
The Sopranos (1999)
The Best Show on TV
Once again, HBO has come up with an immensly entertaining and clever original series. The story lines are fast-paced, the dialogue is excellent and the cast boasts the best collaboration of actors in TV history.
Little Women (1994)
Outstanding
This movie was by far one of the best dramatic films I've ever seen. Christian Bale was outstanding as Laurie and the acting by both Bale and Wynona Rider superbly emphasized the relationship between Jo and Laurie. This will be a holiday classic for years to come.
Swing Kids (1993)
All young people should see this film.
Swing Kids is an important film because it shows swing in an historical light, as more than just a 1990s fad. It also gives a more in-depth look at Nazi Germany and the complexity related to the war.
The Firm (1993)
Pretty good
This was a pretty good movie, but it was pathetic how far it strayed from the book, which is far more interesting.
Joe Torre: Curveballs Along the Way (1997)
This movie was bad.
Instead of depicting Joe Torre as a regular guy who did a great job with a great team, it made him seem like Ghandi. It was over-dramatic and trite.
