Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004)
Lacking in every respect: story, dialog, acting, humor
This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It is boring to death, the plot is uninteresting (if this can be even called a plot), and it tries to make up for its really bad dialog by putting as many references to having sex and f/s-words into each and every sentence. An additional problem is that there is no person in this film the viewer can develop sympathy for: Miss Jones is depicted as just too dumb to really feel compassion for, and Mr. Darcy is a block of ice. So the viewer is simply left alone with some story of two people he doesn't care a pence for. I thought this was being advertised as a somewhat funny movie - but honestly, David Letterman's horrible hosting of the Oscars was hilarious compared to this "movie". Don't see it - it's a waste of time and money.
Extreme (1999)
Splice several IMAX sports clips - and get extremely bored
This was one of the most boring and disappointing movies I've ever seen. It's not really entertaining to see some guys skiing or surfing, if there is no real catcher (like extreme close-up or taking the angle of view of the "actors", e.g. during surfing). The "linking" of the clips was either too sophisticated for me (see a bird - think of snowboarding?!) - or it was absolutely unrelated and dumb. No thrills and not even a laugh - the whole long movie. I'd not recommend this movie to anyone, except for snowboarding or surfing freaks - and even they are probably better off to go out...
