Disturbing Behavior (1998)
Very Disappointing
I certainly expected more from this movie, especially since the trailer looked promising, but this movie lacks a lot of the important stuff that makes a movie worth watching. The initial idea was probably good, but the movie itself is very vague and too short. The characters had no depth and are very "dead". The script is very monotonous in a way that makes the movie very boring. I would give it a 4/10....if they are planning to make a sequel, i certainly hope for a drastic improvement.
The Mask of Zorro (1998)
Great stuff!
Definitely the most entertaining movie of the year....it includes all the necessary action, appealing latino men(Banderas)in tight suits, dashing romance sequences, a very beautiful chick, humor, adventure, suspense, passion and charisma. It is not a "think movie", but truly a movie that one can sit back and enjoy and have a good laugh at the same time. This is what movies are all about anyways and the mask of zorro is a classic example of it. A definite *****!
Good Will Hunting (1997)
The best of the worst movies...
Good Will Hunting could have been a great movie, but it's nothing more than an average movie. It's been hyped up by so many people in the media, that the viewers are actually getting convinced that Matt Damon is the new miracle giving Hollywood new hope and glory, but it is quite the opposite. As an actor I think he's not convincing enough, maybe in the first part of the movie he seems to be able to let you forget he's just an actor, but at the end of the movie he starts to act out his character in such a way it actually brings down all what he did in the first part. As the writer of the screenplay he's not such a star either, again the beginning is okay, but the ending seems like a bad headache after a night of partying. The only truly remarkable thing about this movie is the excellent and undervalued performances by Robin Williams and Ben Affleck. Matt Damon and Minnie Driver should have been the last choices for their characters.
Marvin's Room (1996)
Great acting, simple story
This movie should be reviewed for its great performances from some of the best actors today. Meryl Streep does not fail to shine out as one of the best actresses of all time as an emotionally distraught mother in this tale of hopes, emotions and intense feelings. Keaton, on the other hand portrays her best performance ever, and Leonardo DiCaprio proves that he has talents besides being a heartthrob. This movie really moved me, not because of the story itself but the acting was very realistic....I believe that they all should have received an Oscar nomination. Well done!
The Little Mermaid (1989)
great
The best disney movie ever....great humor, great songs, great story, a definite 10/10!!!
Ever After (1998)
I truly enjoyed the movie.......it was a mixture o...
I truly enjoyed the movie.......it was a mixture of a romantic tale, a comedy, suspense, fairy tale etc, all combined into one amazing fable. Although, many would have already figured out the plot before going in, there are many details of the movie that they would further like watching. The locations, costumes and "medieval" humour are bonuses to enjoy. Ever after, is by far, one of the best movies of the year, too bad it had to coincide with the release of Saving Private Ryan, otherwise it would be number one for sure. Great performances by Drew Barrymore and Anjelica Huston
Titanic (1997)
The Best of the best
No matter what anyone says, I still feel that titanic is more than just a romance story. People tend to forget that everything portrayed in the movie (besides the love story), actually happened and that's what makes it a wonderful movie. I have seen it many times, and every time I see it, there seems to be something different, something I missed, something better. James Cameron put his heart and soul into making this movie, and the result is fabulous. The cast is great (no, not just Leonardo DiCaprio), but it also includes other great actors and actresses academy award winner Kathy Bates. The movie deserved to win best picture, as the story includes more than just the special effects. This three hour epic has continous action and never a dull moment that would guarantee to leave you crying or sitting at the edge of your seats. Not to mention the continous images of Leonardo DiCaprio for all those drooling fans out there...:)...Well done!!! A definite *****!
