Soldier (1998)
Don't Get Luvvie On Me!!!
Interesting mix of comments that it would be hard to add anything constructive to. However, i'll try. This was a very good action film with some great set pieces. You'll note I specified the genre. I didn't snipe about the lack of characterisation, and I didn't berate the acting. Enjoy if for what it is people, a well above average action film. I could go on but I've made my comment.
Blackjack (1998)
Blackjack: you'll need that fast forward button.
The main thing that stuck in mind with this film was that it was an action version of porno. The story telling is so dire (and plot so feeble) that you inevitably fast forward to the next set piece. Perhaps this tells you more about the reviewer than the film!

An antidote to the prozac era.
A great testimony to this film, whilst you cannot repeatedly enjoy the sheer horror of its initial viewing, you can vicariously enjoy the shocked amazement and trauma of people who have recently seen it.
