The root of all evil.

Frederick Greenwood is the new man in Genevieve's life, Lu's mother, but he's receiving death threats, the owner of a tennis club, Frederick is short of money. Lu has her PI examination.

Particularly good, this series definitely improved as it progresses, this was I reifying enough, clever and fun. I loved the tennis setup, although I'd any one of those has played more than a few hours of the sport I'd be hugely surprised, they could at least have had actors that could hit the ball.

Julia Deakin is really good as Lu's mum, they cast her well.

It's very good. 8/10

Love means nothing in tennis

Warning: Spoilers
Jemma Moore guest stars as Rose Lin in the penultimate episode of season 2. I like Shakespeare and Hathaway, especially the theme composed by Debbie Wiseman (who also composed The Coroner theme). Here Lu's mother engages the agency to help out in tracking the source of death threats at a high-end tennis club.

The Envious Court

Anyone for tennis? Lu's mother Genevieve is back. She introduces Lu to her new beau, Frederick Greenwood who owns a tennis club.

When Frederick finds out that Lu is a private detective, he has a case for her, he has received a death threat.

Lu refuses to take on the case, she needs to spend time revising for her private investigators exam. Frank though will not turn down money and Frederick is prepared to pay double if they keep things discrete.

Frank goes undercover as a learner tennis player. However pretty soon Frederick gets a ransom demand and a club player is poisoned.

Another enjoyable lighthearted episode. Lu frets over her exams and needs to deal with issues with her mother who does not seem to be too impressed with her detective lark.

There are several likely suspects, it is a nice enough mystery and with Genevieve and Frederick, the outlook is a love game.

Lighthearted, playful entertainment

Although quite a predictable mystery story, it is what it is. Better than some of the Brit mystery shows I've watched lately. I knew whodunit halfway through.

Still pretty well made and played.
