This focuses on four years when some significant people began to show up in the country world. It also was a time when, like the culture, social change was reflected in much of the music. Much of the country stuff stayed put, but a black man, Charley Pride made his way through prejudice and anger to become a star. Merle Haggard, who had spent much of his youth in prison, entered the scene. Some strong women became start, despite their male peers efforts to keep them subservient. This is the time of Bobby Gentry, Jeannie Seely, Dolly Parton, and Jeannie C. Riley. Well done episode.
