A week off from Arrow was likely needed as this episode seemed to reinvigorate the pacing for the last season just enough to keep my interest. Of course, it wasn't without it's flaws, but I had a great time with tonight's episode, particularly the last 10-15 minutes.
It was only a matter of time before Oliver and company returned to Russia as the last season is running through all of the show's greatest hits in the last 10 episodes. Who other than Anatoly to show up and provide further context around the search for and the plans of plutonium. The separate missions, Roy & Dig and the Oliver-Mia-William-Laurel arc, weren't always captivating, but I thoroughly enjoyed the fight scenes. Specifically the callback to when Oliver had to ring the bell in season 5.
This week also saw the return of Roy, who I guess is sticking around for a bit? Sounds good to me. Could we possibly see him in the massive crossover for the first time? And look, even if his return seems like a convoluted plot reason to bring him back, I still enjoyed his presence. At this point, I'm taking what I can get with the show.
All leading to the end reveal that Lyla has in fact "betrayed" the team. More than likely, she'll explain her reasons and they will be on her side within a week, but it was a nice cliffhanger to lead off with. However, shouldn't we be seeing more of The Monitor at this point? He's been in a total of maybe 3-4 scenes all season?
