Saudi reporter Jamal Khashoggi started his career as esteemed, loyal journalist working for his country's good relationship with the West. He was on good terms with the almighty royal family and its efforts to promote Islam, even through legitimate Jihad, including the Mujaheddin in Afghanistan against the Red Army. Later he saw how golden Bin Laden turned from hero into terrorist mastermind, while the Saudi dynasty supported excessive Jihadists and the country changed under the new king Salman and his crown prince turned authoritarian regent Muhommed (MBS), who also engaged in a disastrous Sunni crusade against leading Shia power Iran, leading to the fratricidal bloodshed in the Jemeni 'civil' war. MBS ended reviling the 'disloyal' Westernized reporter and ordering his candid execution and dismemberment in the Saudi embassy in Turkey, where the authorities assembled proof of this extreme abuse of power.
