A fresh, intense, heart-wrenching drama about the falling times of single screen cinemas.

I was really impressed with the subject the director chose.

BAGLI TALKIES is a very fresh film given the fact that it tackles a very common and burning issue which many might not even consider one. A true cinema lover can really understand what is meant by watching a film only on the big screen. The growing trend of watching movies on small screens, that too pirated prints, is affecting single screen cinemas which once used to draw huge crowds and often displayed houseful boards.

Those days are almost gone.

Since I've myself seen a good number of movies in single screen cinemas, I can understand the point the director tried to make. I watched it at the Chambal International film festival where the director said that films are meant to be seen on the big screen, at least multiplex cinemas if not necessarily single screens. I agree.

This isn't just a movie. It's a display of the reality we are pretty much aware of but aren't willing to consider it that important. Performance, screenplay and execution wise, this film completely won my heart.

I'd strongly recommend it if you want to see a fresh and original film in the drama genre.

This is one of the few movies where I can relate myself to be part of that. This will remind everyone what we have missed so far. Very good direction, story and acting. It feels nostalgic to remember 'Ravindra Talkies' at Dongargarh.

Reminiscence of the older era

If I have to define the movie in one word , it would definitely be 'Nostalgia' . Brilliantly written , directed and performed , the movie is sure to stir up the nostalgia. I couldn't help but walk down the memory lane with the characters . Even though the movie narrates the story of the transitioning phase of cinema from single screen to multiplexes , it is much relatable in many other terms . The lesson learnt is , change is inevitable ! If you don't change you won't survive.
