So not a great movie but couldn't stop watching this crazy train wreck. Also running a search on your computer about getting rid of a body after killing someone no way that's gonna be incriminating. Also you can't just stop drinking alcohol like that if you are an alcoholic and still be totally fine. Woah and full on crazy girl on the end.

My name is Nicole; I was interested to watch it to the end to see what happened and ummmm - all ai can think is what just happened
SPOILERS
Did she kill her parents? Why was she cured of her personality quirk after she killed John? Why was he such a jerk (sidebar comment)? Why is she so miserable in the first place - like I get depression but what triggered it? Kudos for the process of making a film. But yeah.....
Little strange

good horror thriller

Starts with a powerful opening image of the lead with blood covering her face. The black and white photography is made all the more striking by the bookended bits of color.
The dialog is sharp and the tension is maintained throughout, with some geniunely funny bits throughout to relieve it. Great bad date gonna very bad vibe.

Ever wonder how terrible movies like this get made? Or how much of a tax break the producers got for this? Or if anyone even read the script before saying, yeah this might be good as toilet paper? Well if you did, this movie is for you. I'm wondering how anyone not attached to it gave it a ten.
shot on an i phone and FAR from "arthouse"
GoodErsatz18 September 2020
Yeah it's pretty bad. and no i don't think it was shot on an iphone; that would be disrespecting the iphone too much.
arthouse implies niche quality and memorable acting - something this film wasn't able to scrounge up

I'm not one to totally dislike a movie. I can usually find something positive, even if it's just the film's location. But when I say bad, I'm not misleading you. The acting. The script. The whole execution of it. Aweful.
Are you serious?

I don't understand the high ratings. This has to be one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile. And it was supposed to be humorous horror? SMH Terrible acting. Lousy script. And some jerk (him) was still interested in the grouchy drunk (her) after the way she acted? Yeah, I know WHY he did but she just wasn't worth the trouble, even for a lowlife like him. I don't have enough time left to waste it on this film. 😳
Laughably terrible

If you're they type of person that can't stop watching a train wreck, this is the movie for you. Acting, horrible. Cast, atrocious. Storyline, WHAT!?!?!! Plot twist, where? This might be the worst movie I've ever seen.

I hate when reviews include "The Worst Movie I've Ever Seen" yet I have got to say it fits for me regarding this mess.
Directing was clumsy at best, acting was over the top cringe by scenery chewing wannabe actors, story went nowhere, plotholes? Zero plot.
Ridiculous pointless scenes happened with no statement made.
One huge mistake.

A fun ride. Great comic and horror mix.

Nicole is definitely a fun ride, a nice blend of horror and comedy. The lead actress is wonderful and so is the fun dialogue and black and white cinematography and world. I love the Hitchcock homage and then the shift to color when her world gets better. I was thoughtfully entertained by this first date gone wrong, full of yearning, haunting of past trauma. This was a really well-done indie film.
Well shot and surprisingly decent

Well im not going to put this movie down by saying because of its low budget its a crap watch, because quite frankly ive seen much higher budget films that are eclipsed by 'Nicole'. And there are very simple reasons for this, such as the earnest characters, clever humour, well lit production and thoughtful narrative. For me relating to the main character Nicole was easy and enjoyable, being a fly on the wall for want of a better term, seeing what no one else is seeing her do, in her struggles to cope with life. Its heartfelt and relevant and an intimate look into her day to day living. The online dating scenario such as in this, we have heard about and/or experienced before and the way its done here is neatly and effectively portrayed. No, its not a flashy, cinematic masterpiece by any stretch, but it is a true to life story that is artfully produced.
Waste of time!

1.5 hours of my life wasted....

This is quite possibly THE most HORRIBLE movie I've ever seen in my life. The acting is absolutely atrocious, it almost seems like they paid the actors to do a terrible job, that's how bad it was. I can't even find enough words to describe how miserable I was watching such a horrible display of acting skills (or the lack thereof). Complete waste of 90 minutes of your life that you can never get back
I did not understand.

I could write so many bad things about this movie. It could have been an entertaining film. Am I to believe EVERYONE this chick comes in contact with wants to be with her. Is she really that attractive? Uh no. Also, a person doesn't overcome alcoholism that easily, no matter if they did endure a tragic episode like she did. One can tell this was a very low budget film.
Terrible

You shouldnt always pass on low budget films, there are sometimes diamonds to be found or you may pass on a decent film. This film was decent. Pretty straight forward but you can appreciate the work that was put into it from the people who did the set to the acting which I found to be very good by the main protagonist Nicole and her date John. I say give it a chance, it's entertaining. I've seen very very horrendous films with a way bigger budget.
Surprisingly good film!

Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised... Story was quirky and offbeat and was smart enough to let the viewer interpret the narrative.... Strong performances by the two leads, deftly parlaying the black humor sprinkled throughout the plot......Well directed with an interesting visual flair throughout the film..... Most definitely looking forward to more from this director and the actors involved...
Nice smile

Okay this indie horror/thriller starring Tamika Shannon who I wouldn't mind seeing in more things is stylish, exciting, brutal, and confusing. Includes #spoilers :

Nicole (2019) Pros: The trailer highlighted the stylish, interesting, and chaotic nature of the story. I liked the way it used the color for showing what is reality and what's imagined, also ties to a con. And the acting was aligned with the movie, not over the top or weak. Nicole definitely had depth, alcoholism and making food for her dead? Family. The guy, John, definitely made me hate him. The personality differences were exciting to watch because one is monotone and subdued, the other is bold and obnoxious. & The settings were also well used.
- Cons: The color flips were not consistent. The dead body talking to her was a moment of that, are these things that she's imagining, is it happening, are we flashing back in time? I also wish John had some kind of redeeming quality because she was not into the date from the jump taking shots of alcohol back to back. Did she plan to kill him from jump, I'm not sure. The dude from the neighborhood following her went nowhere, and by the end I felt like if I didn't watch this film I wouldn't have missed anything. The movie poster was dope, but made it seem like she was just a murder and not someone just using the axe to chop up the body after she used it in self-defense. Why go through all the effort to chop up and hide the body, witnesses saw you with the guy? If you were in The House that Jack Built then... - I rate this a 5, not great and not terrible. I was visually pleased by the black and white then pops of color, and then how the story plays out as a bad date gone wrong but by the end I was confused and uninterested in figuring out what the colors, this conversation with the dead body, and the gas station scene were all about. I was entertained and the acting was aligned with the movie. I would recommend this for a movie night with your girls where you drink cheap wine and recall stories of terrible dates.
