Uneven at times but quite entertaining
ikanboy15 August 2022
I didn't think a series about a Bank would interest me but this is more about character than money. A reporter and an exec are sexual partners until she-the reporter- decides to investigate his business. She shifts from going down on him to shafting him. The ending is a mess of justice and injustice, and I see the guy who plays Peder-the exec-is not in season 2. Hmm?

Exciting Swedish thriller series set in finance world
kim-ikonen21 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If you're into trading and finance, police series, thrillers, investigative journalism and bad guys, this is a series for you. Economics reporter Bea pulls strings as she unravels a major bank scandal, while at the same time getting involved with the head bad guy. It can be hard to understand some of her choices but then again, that's also partly what makes it interesting; that even the heroine's moral compass gets confused at times. The series is set in Sweden's finance world and is partially based on a true story and research by Caroline Neurath who has not only won prizes for her investigate journalists within finance, but also written several thrillers since.

Not conceptual, but seems realistic
BeneCumb22 September 2020
At present, almost everyone has a bank account, but the number of those interested in more advance level of banking and the people in charge there is far lower - or it is automatically associated with wealth and power. Thus, it a sophisticated task to develop a series emanating from specific topics and terms with the aim to attract a wider audience... That is why, also in Fartblinda, the scenes are arid at times, with universal human issues coming off second best, and the next steps may be difficult to predict and understand. Some links became fully compherensible in the final episode only (it was more to my liking as crime and thriller elements were more visible here).

Not all characters include versatile dynamism and "maturity", and sometimes the supporting cast tend to overshadow the stars. My favourite here is Claes Månsson as Otto Rehnskiöld; the duo Bea-Peder had probably too much chemistry for such a troublesome series of events.

All in all, not bad, but Sweden has produced dozens of more interesting crime/thriller series. So, the rich cry too - but the poor cry more often... Apparently in Sweden as well.

Really good up until the bank fails. Should have ended there. Last 2 episodes not believable and boring.

Fantastic show with amazing costume design
quicksmart7231 December 2019
The lead actor does such an incredible job of being vulnerable and tough at the same time, she's a revelation and made the show so watchable. The other actors all brilliant and the costume design for character Bea Farkas is so incredible! Well done Ulrika Sjolin!

So much better than expected.

Loved it. The acting was fantastic. The two lead actors had great chemistry and played their parts so convincingly. I really wasn't surprised at all they fell back into bed together when I least expected they would. It actually made sense to me. It is obvious from the start their relationship isn't healthy; it's intoxicating.

While others have said she series took a turn for the worse at episode 6/7, I actually thought it got better, at least from an edge-of-your-seat perspective. When powerful people with extraordinary amounts of money have someone coming after them, what happened to her and others doesn't seem far fetched at all.

Eagerly awaiting season 2.

Could Have Been A 10
cdmllm28 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This series had all the makings of 10 out of 10 rating. The acting was extremely top notch. The first 6 episodes had weaved together a compelling and suspenseful story. For me it TOTALLY fell apart in the seventh episode. With evidence of her lover being a crooked bank executive with extremely dubious morals she decides to hop in bed with him anyway. And for his part, he knows she advancing her career at his expense. She is exposing all the wrong doings by him and his executive colleagues. Yet, he dumps his family and continues sleeping with her. A more realistic scenario would have him fuming over her actions. "Get the story at all costs" bodies start dropping all around her, including her friend, the confidential informant that gave her all the inside info. She sheds a few tears, but keeps going as other lives drop. There are other "you've got to be kidding me moments. Like when she uses her tremendous breaking and entering skills and miraculously finds the flash drive containing the smoking gun. The last two episodes ruined the first six for me. It truly was promising. Poor writing!

Money & Love Again Even in Sweden
westsideschl27 March 2021
Appropriate to all periods in history we have some Swedish crooked backroom banking/financial scamming making some wealthy while many others - not so. The usual subplot to keep viewers awake & somewhat relevant to their lives is an unethical & immoral hook up between our married male (of course) banker, and a female reporter investigating his scamming. The love affair between our two attractive (of course) characters has it's predictable consequences.
