Almost perfect

My only complaint is that the episode is too short.

Amazing Episode. My Only wish is it was longer
goingnerdyofficial15 November 2019
This was an amazingly crafted episode. From start to finish it didn't waste time. There is no filler here, just good story telling. The music, the pacing, the action. Everything was on point. My only problem was that the episode itself was only around 27 minutes. This was perfect for the story it told, but I am worried that each episode is going to be short like this. I want more. Much, much more. Especially with only 8 episodes to the first season.

THIS is how you DO Star Wars!
jdidangel15 November 2019
This episode excited me as a Star Wars fan. Just when I had given up on Disney making good Star Wars, I have a New Hope! I want a baby yoda merch! With a floating crib to follow me everywhere.

I have spoken!
drthdve15 November 2019
Another great episode, I would even say greater than the first episode, of The Mandalorian. I think the, "I have spoken" quote may become another great and famous Star Wars quote. It's great seeing all the great background Star Wars characters and vehicles that we love, the jawas, the sand crawler, the ugnaughts and others.

This one outdoes the first one

Warning: Spoilers
While the first episode of 'The Mandalorian' was really good, the pace was way too fast. This was necessary for the introduction of the characters and is common in TV shows, but it means that sometimes it could leave the viewer confused with what was happening. In this second episode, things slowed down a bit. You know who the characters are, and the slowing down is actually used in such a way, that it makes everything more tense. The shots used in this show.. they're probably among the best I've ever seen in a TV show. The creator of the show also aimed for a western theme for the music, and it really feels like a modern 'the good, the bad and the ugly' in a galaxy far, far away. It is just really good. For the love of God, don't be discouraged by the first episode to stop the show. It's amazing now.

Jon Favreau (Writer of this show)
djetm15 November 2019
You might know him from the movie "Swingers" Where he has not got the best luck doing blackjack.

He has now for me - the biggest understanding on how to continue anything related to Star Wars.

I look forward to the next episode - no pressure :))

And keep up the good work - this is 9/10 from me.

Jawas!

Great seeing the inner workings of the jawas! Another great episode and reveal near the end. GReat blend of practical effects and CGI.

Its own thing
michael_fisher-9802515 November 2019
A lot of reviews of the first episode pegged it as a glorified fan film, this episode shreds such comparison. In the thirty minutes of episode two, The Mandalorian becomes its own thing, in the vein of David S. Pumpkins.

Brilliant episode, so cool to see the Jawa back again being as rambunctiously naughty as usual.

And what about mini Yoda? Right little life saver.

The essence of Star Wars lives on

Mildly entertaining
djpilch15 November 2019
I'm not one to love something just because it's related to Star Wars. This episode was only okay. The music is mediocre at best. I know it's different from the movies, and that's okay..... but it doesn't add anything to the feeling of the episode. Is it me or does the main character seem to mope around like a kid who just got his video game system taken away? Boring. Hopefully this improves dramatically.

Great filler episode with a movie-quality creature...
Wililjam15 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode doesn't really include any new story details, this episode was more like a bump in the road for the 'hero'. However, this episode does reveal that the creature, last seen in the end of episode one, is familiar with the force which is quite interesting.

The episode also features another creature that was beautifully made, not sure if was fully CGI or a mix between CGI and practical, but it looked amazing. The score as usual was great as well. In my first review I pointed out that the soundtrack/music was reminiscent of the Black Panther soundtrack/music, and to my surprise, the one who made the soundtrack/music for Black Panther does the soundtrack/music for The Mandalorian.

Either way, this episode was a great filler episode, although I wish it was longer and more story driven. Still, there are six more episodes to go, so there's still time!

A good filler episode
kyrross16 November 2019
With only 8 episodes per season, i dont get why they would go on this side quest . This episode add only one major element that could have been show in the main story events. While the visuals are great and the nostalgia is strong, this episode could be skipped and nothing would be missed but a few laugh and some cute moments. It is good, and I enjoyed it. But filler episode is perhaps a testimony for lack of main focused story. Hope I am wrong, we will see.

Poorly written silly filler episode.
coolguyjames_nz19 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The second episode is a big let down compared to first. Poor writing, pointless action and no direction contribute to this follow up episode being just a non sensical filler episode unfortunately. So It starts off with a cool action scene, which I enjoyed up until his rifle turned into some lame phaser evaporating weapon. It's such a Disney thing to add, because they don't want to show people getting wounded or shot too much apparently. Fast forward a minute or two and he is straight up sniping and murdering/evaporating Jawas with it. Which I found surprising and just silly. A warning shot would have scared them off? He's now murdering Jawas. He then runs after them like an idiot to try get all the parts from his ship back that they have stolen, he fails miserably and is made to look dumb. This guys is suppose to be a bass ass and he can't even get into a Jawa transport? 🤣 He can't carry all his parts anyway and It's not like he was going to murder them all 30 of them and drive the transport back to his ship? At this point it's just a nonsensical mess, and I'm starting dislike the character a bit. But it gets worse. Nick Nolte, the "I have spoken" is back and he comes up with a great idea to just trade with the Jawas, (after he's just killed 5-6 of them)? Wait what? But that idea works somehow, even though he also tries to flame thrower them? Honestly i'm just thinking the main character is an idiot/dick now. He was portrayed as calm and smooth but now it's just the opposite. The Jawas want an egg, so I'm guessing this egg is worth a lot... But they just want to eat it? Are you kidding me. So he goes to find the Reek with the egg. The reek fight was just plain silly. Our main character has no tactics or ideas just gets his ass handed to him so we are again reminded about how useless he is. His flame thrower has no effect, his grapple is pointless, he just gives up and accepts his death after doing basically nothing (what the hell). Baby Yoda force lifting this thing up was a stretch. This thing is probably a similar weight to an Xwing for godsake. So he has on par force skills with MASTER Yoda. His knife kill was silly, as if that tiny knife would drop that thing in one stab instantly. (Give this dude a black mandalorian sword like in Clone Wars please). This whole episode is just pointless to the overall story. To summarise it's just little side quest, that wasn't even that great and had no point. I've given it four stars because of the cinematography, effects and make up/costumes. The production is top notch although the music lacks slightly. I really hope it picks up from here...

Now that, thankfully, Damb and Damber are out of the picture, give Favreau the KOTOR trilogy yesterday!
vault13-347-48533516 November 2019
Is this even Disney???? No agentas, a badass character, nice story, chemistry between the protagonists, incredible production values and good old star wars feeling with all the yoda baby, droids, jawas stuff! Damn it Disney, why did you ruin Star Wars when you obviously could deliver an incredible sequel trilogy??? WHY? If you like the real, George Lucas, original movies, forget Rise of Skywalker, this is your big thing! I have spoken!

Real Star Wars
kr1z15 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
So....Yoda species need no training? (it was supercute thow) And.. you can kill such a mighty beast with such a small knife? Besides that, this episode nails the starwars vibe for me. (more than anything that came after ROTJ imho) Also reminds me a bit of Samurai Jack/Primal (not much talking, just a hero on his journey) I am getting used to the music also. The first episode felt a little bit like a fanmovie (maybe because it was a first time director?), this one felt much more "professional" and confident. I am also enjoying Fallen Order, the ship breaking yard looks beautiful; today is a starwazie day for me ;)

Baby Cart! Amazing Star Wars episode
lootybagsacks16 November 2019
I loved this episode. Everything about it felt like how star was should feel. The writers and Directors have done a great Job of bringing back what everyone loves about the original films.

Visuals are amazing. Characters are engaging and I love the child!!

I hope people can see that this is a TV series and not a film. That it supposed to leave you wanting and take its time to develop.

Sadly we live in a time where everyone needs constant stimulation. So maybe this isn't for everyone, as it isn't all laserbeems and explosions. But for me who is a true oldskool star wars fan. It's Brilliant.

Great Cinematic scenes
cjba-3555922 December 2019
This episode felt most like Star Wars to me than the others. The photography, effects, story curve, acting and cutting is top notch! It looks like a movie and looks expensive. Alot of the later episodes have really really cringeworthy acting (blue fishguy, tatooine repairwoman, cafewoman, nativewoman and kid that red deamon guy, unlikeable kid on speederbike, twilek guy and that female twilek) and waaaaayyyy overacting, so much so it cheapens the show ina bad way as there are moments that are really really good.. i remember thinking that those Tusken Raidets should have just risen out of the sands and had them surroundlyd in that one episode insteadof just standing next to them. Deborah Chow is one they should keep and the guy that dieected ep 2, for next season. The rest can find work elsewhere.. i have spoken.

Was very 'star warsie'
nuge1616 November 2019
For those looking for a nostalgic star wars feeling, this episode offered just that. Although it was rather short (only a profound 30 min), there wasn't any lul in the action. I am so happy they brought back a Jawa sand-crawler and their goofy mannerisms!

25 minutes?? Are you freakin kidding me..

Really only got Disney plus for this show and if you're telling me I'm only going to get 8 episodes of 25ish minutes, that's pathetic. C'mon Jon..

Embarrassing short runtime with little development
Leumas78616 November 2019
This episode comes in at only 28 minutes long with almost no advancement of the plot or development of the protagonist. We end the episode at the same point we were at when it began. Somehow the episode was so short but also dragged in the middle. Disney needs to step up their game if this is their flagship series.

Baby yoda
albinwagsater19 November 2019
The only thing that this show has to offer is baby yoda. The people who are giving this a 10 have either not expreienced good cinema or telvision and i feel bad for them or they are so blinded by the star wars tag that they lie to themselves. Its not good. Not horrible but when you make a 30 min episode feel meaningless and boring you have failed. But yoda is so cute not gonna lie

Short and fun.
cruise0118 November 2019
4 out of 5 stars.

Episode continues to be action packed and good. Following Mandolorian and a child which i am trying to avoid spoilers. Trying to get back to his ship. Which was stripped of parts by those small hoodie looking things that was in A New Hope movie. It had some fun action. The script and direction was good. It did feel a little short though.

Still Pleased... But...
m-bakker1116 November 2019
Much and much to short, only 30min. I wish eatch episode could be 50min. To 1hr at least. Some things could have gotten some better build up so you have the same story in only 50min.
