Just an incredible film.... my cousin has Autism himself... and to see a director so accurately portray the fear and pain from both sides.... incredible. I truly can't wait to see what's next from this kid.... He's only 21... How? If this is how he starts I can't wait what happens when he learns more and more.

Autism is more common than what we think

Warning: Spoilers
Artistically, this is a very well done film portraying the shock followed by the repercussions and suffering a mother endures after her child receives the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Later it shows the tremendous help a communication assistive device provides to facilitate communication between the patient and his mother. The directing and acting were great as well as the narrative. I give it a 9/10.

As a clinical geneticist, I see patients referred for evaluation of a genetic cause for Autism. There are many genes that have been linked to autism and the list is growing everyday. From my experience, Autism is one of the most dreaded diagnoses that family fear to receive when their child is showing signs and symptoms consistent with it. Research shows that that 30% of autism has a known genetic cause and 70% is still unknown. From my experience, I can predict that all of autism will be found to have a genetic cause, however, there is still so much to learn. With more awareness of what this diagnosis entails through films like "Diagnosis", one can hope that more resources will be dedicated for researching and understanding autism and it's genetic causes. Maybe one day we can reach treatments and cures.

Overall, beautiful work! topics like this fuel my drive both as a doctor and as an actor.
