I've noticed a trend with not only the reviews on SWAT but many other procedural dramas. The storylines about characters lives are all good and welcome until it's something people aren't used to seeing.
It's all fine to see Hondo and Jess see each other, with numerous episodes now on his new love interest, and just as many episodes focusing on Deacon and Annie, even a few with Tan & Street and their respective relatives woes, but now that it's a non conventional, non heterosexual relationship, people have a problem?
Get over yourselves. This doesn't ruin the series. You're just homophobic. There is no gay agenda, just representation! Very few shows tackle poly relationships and this is why. Seriously, it doesn't change the show. This is still SWAT.
Chris is still a SWAT cop. They still have cases & action. You sensitive people just can't handle seeing something besides a heterosexual, normalized relationship. That doesn't reflect the show. It reflects on you.
Episode gets a 7/10 because it's not nearly as interesting as the last two episodes, but still great and I don't see how Chris' relationship changes anything. Great acting, great stories!
