A Humanistic Journey Wrapped Up In Such Short Duration
samxxxul17 January 2022
Thought of sharing this for a long time and finally doing it after a conversation with a friend who shared about her recent train journey. She had clicked pictures of illuminated windows of the passing train, houses and random strangers and the visuals from this short film was running in my mind. I asked her if she can recollect what was the person doing in the picture and what was the first thing she saw?

I decided to revisit this and it was so much better on a rewatch. I connected the images clicked by my friend to the narration of this short. It was a beautiful repurposing of the images and the unspoken emotion like the characters who remember the moment or let it slip away. The idea to make this a story is spectacular and director Huang Pang-Chuan manages to immerse the viewer on an humanistic journey and it will confront you from the closest distance you have ever experienced. In fact, this is not a movie but a journey that anyone who engages will not forget about it.
