The Most Unkindest Cut of All
Prismark107 December 2018
There is treason afoot in the theatre. Condell has had enough of Bubbage hogging the limelight and the applauses.

Meanwhile Shakespeare thinks Condell is too old and haggard to play the female lead. He needs to go.

Kate gives Shakespeare the idea for Julius Caesar, although he wants to initially make it a trip to the seaside. 'I came, I saw, I paddled about a bit.'

Another nicely constructed episode, the company finds a new young actor, able to supply his own boobingtons and someone Kate wants to marry. If only the Italian theatre did not express an interest in a hermaphrodite.

The ultimate betrayal goes to Robert Greene who thought he had Shakespeare for promoting regicide.
