The Punisher season 2 has been a fun and entertaining ride, and it was much needed to get out of the depressing thought that Daredevil have been cancelled. Now judging by the ending, it is possible this will go the same way.
Season 2 started off fantastically with the introduction of Amy, a smart mouthed teen, who works fantastically with Frank. Their on-screen relationship was funny, intense and at times heartbreaking. Watching him become a father figure to her was great to watch. The next is the hitman John Pilgrim, and he was a delight to watch. He was intimidating, creepy and downright bada**.
As usual the fight scenes are amazing, gory and bloody. If only the Iron Fist had these people working on that show. The directing, the acting and the writing is amazing in every episode, no one felt slow or unnecessary. Billy as one of the side villains was great, he wasn't as memorable as John Pilgrim, but he was still great, even though his make-up was disappointing. But that is expected as applying the comic book style make-up would cost a lot and take a lot of time.
My biggest issue with this season, is that it is less character and more action packed, more action that usual. The characters we saw last season are not in this season at all, and I don't think they are even mentioned. In this episode in particular, the characters I believed would be important at the start, never shoe back up. If this truly is the last episode, which I hope it isn't, they haven't given us closure.
The Punisher season 2 was fantastic, and the Whirlwind is a great last episode, I just hope it isn't the 'Last' episode, because they'ere is so much more that they could cover.
