So many new questions
cazbsh8 May 2019
Ohhhh I have tingles. Amazing scenes where Chloe asks what we have all be wondering. The bit with the axe was stunning. Graham as the priest who certainly has something up his sleeve and Linda's big news!!!!! I just didn't think I could love this show more, I was wrong.

I was nervous about how episode 1 ended, but they resolved it very nicely and very quickly here

Warning: Spoilers
For a moment I was like, "Please do NOT erase everything you've done for three seasons by making Chloe a liar and tool of the church for this entire show," and while I admit it was an irrational fear that the writers could be that spectacularly bad, in the very beginning of episode 2 they reassured me. Whew. Was sweating.

It was her month traveling the world immediately after finding out about Lucifer, not some years long conspiracy (well there was one, but she was recently brought into it). The way they did it, with her researching at the Vatican for that month, makes all the sense in the world for her character and what she saw. My hat's off to the writers, because they did this as good as it could possibly be done.

Also, Father Kinley is an excellent "villain," and the actor is phenomenal.

I love this direction for the show. It's still the same Lucifer, but enhanced in pretty much every way, and the events of Season 3 still hang like a dark cloud over all the characters, which is exactly what you'd expect. Absolutely well done.

Where is the ratio?

Warning: Spoilers
I too was worried at the start of this episode about the whole church thing. Besides that, I found it strange that the detective, normally a rational person, suddenly would be involved with the church and it's dogmas, without any criticism. I was quite annoyed at her. I am relieved that seems to be solved now, although we haven't seen the last of this priest apparently. About that, how come everyone just can walk into Lucifer's elevator/house/place? After three seasons I still don't understand his house. Apparently there is no front door?

Back and Better

So happy with how season 4 is unfolding, with various interesting stroylines unfolding already in these first two episodes. I also really like Chloe's reaction to Lucifer really being the devil, thought it was alot more realistic than Linda's reaction.

Decent Episode

Warning: Spoilers
First of all, I got a ridiculously happy feeling when I heard Maze curse. Another reason I love that Netflix picked the show up. Yes, I'm aware that the fact a cuss word made me so happy says a lot about me. I'm thankful they didn't drag out the whole Chloe doubting Lucifer storyline because I would have been done with her. After all Lucifer had done for her, including dying not once but TWICE for her (even though she didn't know), her betrayal would have ended the series for me.

Tom Ellis clearly works out and it shows. Thank you for gratuitous naked chest shots. Linda and Maze are adorable together in every scene they share. That priest reminds me of an unlikable Heisenberg and needs to go. Chloe and Lucifer's awkwardness was well-acted by both. I'm not sure what's happening with Dan, but that's another storyline I hope they resolve soon. I really like his character and hate seeing him in the background like he is right now.

The crime-of-the-week was weak, but Lucifer's brave act of jumping in front of Chloe when the axe was thrown made me tear up. How she can doubt how he feels about her is beyond me. Ella was charming as always. The world needs more Ellas. Amenadiel and Linda learn happy news, and I can't wait to see how that will turn out. In a twist, Maze is named the godmother? Lucifer lives in the most unsafe place ever, because it's apparently open to the general public. Seriously.

I've enjoyed these past two episodes. Granted, it is following a really weak season but I haven't been disappointed with how it's progressing at all. Can't wait to watch more!

More like the old Lucifer. Unfortunately, like the Lucifer towards the end of season three when it wasn't as good.

Our main partnership still isn't the same. Chloe and Lucifer are awkward and missing their old chemistry. The basic murder wasn't anything special either and Amenadiel's story has gotten stupid.

This episode showed promise though. There were a few good moments and not as much stupidity as episode one. It wasn't better enough to get a higher rating, but I'm glad I hung in there.
