Nrp’s popular radio show/podcast, “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me,” is coming to television.
NBCUniversal’s unscripted studio, Wilshire Studios, is developing a TV adaptation of the Peter Sagal-hosted series with Storied Media.
The weekly show is a funny and fast-paced game of provocative questions and snappy answers about current events, with celebrity guests — most recently, Candace Bergen was a guest. The TV adaptation is an hour-long current events trivia game featuring three celebrity panelists who will compete in a series of comedic challenges, earning points as they correctly answer questions about the week’s news. The panelist who earns the most points will earn a cash prize for the charity of his or her choice.
No host has been picked yet for the TV version.

Shania Twain is saying "That Don't Impress Me Much" to the amount of women in country music. In fact, she's the opposite of impressed. The country star talked to E! News' Carissa Culiner about her new show Real Country, which airs Tuesday on USA, and how she's hoping that more females will feel inspired to get involved in the genre. Culiner began by the conversation with Twain about wanting "to talk about women in country music today." The singer replied, "What women?!" If that wasn't evidence enough of the "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" singer's displeasure with the current state of affairs in country music, she continued to explain...

Daniel Bryan just ended Aj Styles’ record reign as WWE Champion in the surprise main-event of Tuesday’s “SmackDown Live.” Talk about a pretty good lead-in for USA Network’s new country-music competition series, “Real Country.”
The shocking squared-circle triumph wasn’t a clean win, however: Bryan turned heel (the pro-wrestling phrase for becoming a bad guy) by delivering an illegal low-blow to Styles before finishing off the “Face that runs the place” with a trademark running knee. The referee had been inadvertently knocked down and missed the infraction.

USA Network has confirmed its upcoming reboot of the 2001 reality series "Temptation Island." The 10-episode revival, produced by Banijay Studios North America, will premiere on January 15 with Mark L. Walberg, who hosted the original, returning as host.
"Temptation Island," which had been in the works at USA for the past few months, is part of the network’s aggressive expansion into unscripted series as it is preparing for the departure of WWE Smackdown next fall.
"Temptation Island" follows four dating couples at a pivotal time in their relationship, where they must mutually decide if they are ready to commit to one another for the rest of their lives — or should go their separate ways. Together, the couples travel to the tropical paradise of Maui, Hawaii, where they join 24 eligible men and women. There, they live the “single life,” in a test that is meant to help answer their most difficult questions about their relationship.

With a name like Real Country, USA Network’s new reality singing competition seems is wading into some contentious territory as it seeks to differentiate between “real country” and, well, whatever the opposite of that is.
Premiering Tuesday, November 13th, at 10:00 p.m. Et, Real Country casts Shania Twain, Jake Owen and Travis Tritt as expert panelists and works mostly within the familiar structure employed by its TV talent-show predecessors — except that each week three new contestants are invited by the panelists themselves, and held up as examples of...

With so many options for music competition shows on television – “The Voice,” “American Idol” and “American’s Got Talent” among them — it’s high time the Country genre got its share of the spotlight. Enter: USA Network’s “Real Country,” a national showcase for promising artists hand-selected by panelists Shania Twain, Travis Tritt and Jake Owen, premiering Nov. 13.
It’s not the first time USA has developed a show for the country music-loving audience, and the network’s previous attempt, “Nashville Star,” had itself a successful six-season run and helped launch Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves and Chris Young. So what’s different this time around?
The talent on “Real Country” ranges from group performers to established songwriters who come into the show with years of experience, whether penning hits for some of the genre’s most prominent names or touring as working musicians. Each episode features three acts selected by the panelists,...

WWE flagship series “Raw” is supposed to air from 8-11 p.m. Et Mondays on USA Network, but anyone who has ever tried to set their DVR for it will tell you the wrestling show usually runs long. Not anymore.
Going forward, “Raw” will cut off at 11 o’clock sharp, a WWE spokesman tells TheWrap. That hard out starts on Monday.
Fightful.com first reported the news that the “Raw” overrun party was over. Their source indicated that this was a USA call and not a WWE one.
“Raw” regularly ran quite a few minutes — sometimes as many as 15 — heavy. USA likely enjoyed having a boosted quarter-hour of TV ratings just after primetime, and the flexibility was favorable for WWE wrestlers.
