Another excellent episode. The series continues to get better.

This was another great installment for the series. Season 3 is as good or better than the first two. I hope there will be a season 4, and there are still several of Cornwall's books to cover or other opportunities to explore with the TV version of this great series. In fact, this is often seen as a poor man's "Vikings", but lately, I would say that the third season of this show is far surpassing the last season or two of "Vikings". The Danes should realize that the witch is nothing but poison to their camp, and lies to all men in her path, but as is the formulaic case in real life, everyone is overcome by fear, superstitions, and the temptation of a seductive and beautiful woman. I just wonder if she even cares about Uhtred in reality, or sees him as yet another pawn in her opportunistic games-- a stepping stone to her next level of power. Many people see the actor portraying Alfred as a poor choice, but he has become more interesting in these later episodes, and his hesitation to kill family members or displease God is quite possibly a logical and historical storyline, at least in the sense of what we know about the real Alfred. He was thought to be very sickly and frail. He didn't seem to be the imposing behemoth on the battlefield that the Danes valued and personified-- he simply had a keen mind, an unwavering devotion to God and England, and a desire to do good after a younger time of debauchery and sin. Good episode. Good season. I want more...

A few good twists round out this filler episode as we wait for the final battle. The fight for the seer is growing a bit tiresome. The weasel finally gets something deserved.
